Who doesn't love a good argument with crooks?
Except you’ll never win. They deal with this shiite all the time, thousands upon thousands of times a year. It’s their day job. You do not know all the angles - they do. They will suck you in and blow you out in bubbles - and there’s a real danger you’ll be tricked into stepping over the mark and incriminate yourself.

In your place, I doubt any regular (with all our years of experience) would ever phone a PPC or debt collector.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Very true and I guess I just never originally think of it like that as they are infuriating people.

Would I be wise to ask for any correspondence they sent to the old address to be sent to my new one for record? (in the off chance they have sent a court order).

No (never phone the gits) but I would argue with them!

I love baiting scammers, especially those ones from ''BT Openreach'' who are all called 'Nick Smith'. Had a woman call the other day, I said 'Ah, you must be Nick Smith again, but your voice has changed'!

Yes, ask for a SAR so you get sent all photos and letters all over again.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I get a kick out of it somewhat, and it seems that I'm not so useless after all lol.

I have requested the subject access request from them to send all letters involved in the case to come to my new address for reference.

    Thanks :)
  • now send SEPARATE LETTERS , one for DPO and one for SAR , but expect agro in getting SAR until you prove you are who you say , normally a partial scan of V5 would suffice

Hey all, I received this response from ECP today.

    "Good afternoon,

Further to your emails received today, I can confirm the following:

I have printed out all the correspondence sent in relation to Parking Charge Notice BLANKED and will send copies directly to your new address: BLANKED for your reference only.

In terms of updating your contact details for the individual PCN BLANKED, I can confirm that Euro Car Parks will not update the address details as the PCN is no longer with us.

ECP are unable to amend the liability details as the PCN is no longer with us.

The PCN has passed across to Debt Recovery Plus Ltd (DRPL) and Euro Car Parks can no longer assist you.

Any/all communication must now be with DRPL. They can be contacted on 0208 234 6775."

As they are unwilling to update my address, what can I do to move forward?

Have you based your forum username on your real name?

If so, you would be wise to get your forum username changed to something very much more anonymous.

To help with that, you might like to read this short extract from The MSE Forum Guide - Frequently Asked Questions & Rules:
    Q. How can I change my username?

    A.
In most circumstances, this is not permitted.

The only reason we will change your username is if it puts your privacy at risk. This usually means you've inadvertently registered using your name, email address or something that gives away your identity within your username.

If you fall into this category, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com and request that it is changed, giving three alternative usernames in order of preference.

    As KeithP says above

Euro Car Parks are clearly very ignorant about their obligations

All they have told DRP to do is chase for an amount of money.
At no time do DRP have/own the PCN as that belongs to the principal which is ECP

ECP must inform DRP of your new address because DRP are the agent of ECP and NOT YOU

    Therefore ECP are talking rubbish.

And, as DRP are simply a timewasting company with no power, you totally ignore them

ECP needs to wake up because there is the ICO to complain to
