no they pinned and sent them to the tailor. They then rang me to tell me it was ready (i couldn't pick up til two weeks later). Took them home to try on but as it's sunday couldn't take back.0

surely they'll just cover their backsides and say this is what you requested?0

very scared now if they don't replace as this was a load of money for a suit!
Don't be! If it was an inch or so then they might question whether you've just changed your mind about how long you wanted them. They've made them five or six inches too short, so even if you had asked for them to be made to wear with very high heels they would still be above your ankle and clearly not what any reasonable person would have requested. I really can't believe that you will have any problem when the error is so large.0 -
Im a man Elvis :')! I'm very fussy about my suits as i like the trousers just to touch the top of my shie but even with shoes on they don't even get to my ankles!0

It's a little bit different with altered items, yes, but they still have to be fit for purpose and as described. You can't just change your mind with these type of items but then you generally can't with things bought in-store anyway. So if you asked them to take of 2 inches and they took off 6 then that would be a not as described issue and perhaps even not fit for purpose in your case.0
