UKCPS > Notice to Kepper
"The driver of the vehicle is liable for Parking Charge. At the date of this notice the charge remains unpaid for which the Full Balance remains outstanding....."
Parking Charge Details
Date
Outstanding: £60.00
Site Location: KFC [Name of the town]
Picture of the car + registration
(but cannot tell, see who the driver is)
Period: 106 Minutes (90minutes being maximum)
So I got 14 days to pay £60.... Question is, shall I ignore
shall I call them and ask for lower penalty fee? shall I say it wasn't me lol If I call them they will accept it as evidence as me having had received the letter.
Not sure what to do.
Don't want to go to court as I would not know what to say/do.
Never had such a "penalty" thing before. Them idiots! I always stay at Costa (which is next to KFC) and always make sure I leave on time but on this occasion, I f....ed it up.
Damn.
ps: is this site (https://www.parkingfines.org.uk/ukcps/) even real ? worth doing it ?

I was going to suggest seeing if you can get Costa (as you are a regular there) to cancel the ticket - but the way it reads you park in KFC's car park and then visit Costa.
Is that right? Or have I (quite possible!) misunderstood?0 -
No you did not misunderstood.
It is a bit poo ... lol
before COSTA got established there, it was just KFC.
After a while, Cost and another fastfood thing got established ...
Costa, got some parking spaces in front which seems to be "owned" by this UKCPS.
There is a label on the wall which points out the regulations.
So on the letter received it says: KFC (name of the town)
speak to the COSTA manager?
I know that my mate got fined a while back and COSTA says "nothing to do with us...."0 -
they wont be lowering any "fee" and its not a "penalty" or a "fine" , its an INVOICE
its either pay in full (which we never encourage) or its wait it out for 6 years unless they try court
the only other option is a landowner cancellation (UKCPS do not "own" this car park, they are a contractor, same as a shop cleaner or window cleaner)
the choice is yours
ps:- even if you appeal they will turn it down, they always do, but the NEWBIES thread tells you all about his and IPC members0 -
Whats this "NEWBIES thread" cos I am new to this.
Any chance you can provide bullet points of steps required.... ?
Fact; it's my dads car and I drove iton that day only (once).
0 -
in that case , unless your dad has named you as DRIVER to UKCPS, then the pcn (invoice) is in his name , not yours, so at this moment in time it has NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH YOU
the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread that you should have read is the third thread down from the top of this forum, near where your NEW THREAD button was, please read it (use a laptop for this , not a phone)0 -
Mate,
not sure why you have to use CAPS in shouting!
1) my dad does not speak or understand English
2) he is my mum's carer (no, they didn't apply for the disability badge, yet).
3) I was driving it... and therefore it's my fault.
As per the NEWBIE, its a huge list to go through and wish somebody would say "look at this section..." instead of whole list.0 -
itsa emphasis, and I am NOT your mate, I am a member of this forum with 6 years experience of these matters
1) is irrelevant, the NOTICE TO KEEPER came to the keeper and is in his name so he is legally responsible for this , not you
had you been speeding doing 90 on the motorway YOUR DAD , not you , would have received an NIP in the post, he could name the driver , or take it himself and not name the driver, the NIP would be in english and the responsibility would be his , not yours , unless he named you as driver , this is no different
you asked for advice , so you need to stop arguing and take the advice onboard
currently, he is the one who would go to court , not you, because HIS NAME is on the V5C or documents and HE is legally responsible capiche ?
the fact he does not speak or read english is irrelevant , it is the international language and is used here in the UK, it was also on all the forms he signed too
so lose the attitude
2) that is irrelevant, if he is the keeper, he is currently liable, the badge is not relevant either, even if he or she had one
3) yes it is your fault, so if he tells UKCPS that fact and extracts himself from liability , because legally he is currently liable and not you (its not yet in your name) - even the letter you posted about in post #1 says the driver is responsible, but they sent it to the keeper, your thread title says so
you need to accept that WE know more about this complicated topic than you do0 -
Mate was also an expression and not implying being close friends.
Yes, I understand that he is liable as he is the car owner.
Never to mention that I do live at the same address and hence why I need to take care of this, 1) he does not understand nor speak English 2) it's my faultand 3) there won't be anybody else to deal with it.
I did not quite understand what you mean by "yes it is your fault, so if he tells UKCPS that fact and extracts himself from liability".
Thanks and appreciate your help.0 -
if your dad wants to get out of this mess that you created, he needs to reply to UKCPS and name you as driver with your current address , and then you will get a notice to driver in your own name
at that point you have accepted the legal liability and you can then decide what to do with the invoice that is in your name (the parking charge) when it arrives in the post
once it is in your name and not his , you can pay or ignore
UKCPS would have 6 years to decide if they are taking you (not him) to court or not (your local civil court)
so if you wish to shoulder the responsibility and get him out of it completely, reply with a letter in english naming you as driver and get him to sign it, and post it ( or if you can email it or go on their website and do it , then do it)
but HE must name YOU as driver in order to get himself out of this whole mess, at which point you can decide about your own fault etc, and if you are paying it
or if you pay this NTK on his behalf by the deadline date, it ends because the invoice has been paid0 -
hmmm well, I guess I have not much option.
To add further complication on top of this issue:
I was driving it without his consent and without being insured!!
He was unaware about it and surely he is pretty annoyed about it.

From your experience, is this site worth it? https://www.parkingfines.org.uk/ukcps/0
