What guaranteed internet speed is too slow?

I have moved into a flat that is only served by ADSL (and not very fast ADSL at that).
Here are some of the speeds I have been quoted:
Sky: 4-8.8 Mb/s (2.8 guaranteed)
Plusnet: 3.5-6 Mb/s (0.4 guaranteed)
Talktalk: 3-7 Mb/s (2.9 guaranteed)
BT: doesn't say..
Sky is probably my first choice as the quoted general speeds are higher but they do have a £30 set up fee.
My second choice would be TalkTalk because they do not have an installation fee like Sky or PlusNet do (I appreciate they are perhaps not the best for customer service).
However, I am concerned that the guaranteed minimum speed is too slow.
The other avenue I have looked into is getting three mobile 4g wifi but my Three signal is not very good (I got a Three sim and checked it).
My Vodafone signal is pretty ok (with 12Mb/s average) and for now it is good as a temporary (as I get 40GB per month data). I was considering getting another Vodafone sim (perhaps with 100GB data) and putting it in a Mifi router. The only major downside is that I think you can only hotspot up to 5 devices on a Vodafone sim. Even though there are only two of us in the flat, I feel like this allowance might get restrictive.
What would you do in my situation?! Or is there another option that I haven't looked at? Thanks

You could have used one of your other threads you know

I can't see Virgin Media BB mentioned anywhere, are they an option? They have a particularly juicy looking deal on 100Mbps at the moment (look at the link at the top of this page).0 -

My question would be to slow for what .
emails web browsing streaming etc .0 -
I watch catchup TV on less than 2MB. I live alone, so it's only ever me using it. I don't do gaming etc. I just watch a few hours of catchup TV per day.0
