Hold on, I'm confused. I thought you were trying to auto tune it? If it comes up with that option first why don't you use it?

You are using the Freeview STB remote control aren't you and not the TV remote?

I was referring to the instructions in the link that I was given earlier, when I switch on the TV, the auto tune screen is not there.

    Yes.

I have completed a Technika online help form, and so I'm waiting patiently for a response. Many thanks for all help, I will update you when I hear from them.

I fear that the OP is trying to retune the TV and NOT the Freeview box.

    Hopefully victor2's post will help??

What does 'Manual Search' give you?

It appears to go through a search, as I can see the number counter running, however, when it finishes nothing happens, and I am returned to the menu.

Question - are you sure that the flat that you have just moved in to has got a television aerial on the roof / in the loft connected to the wall point in your room?

Just because there is an aerial point in your flat doesn't automatically mean that there is anything connected to the other end.

The previous occupant could have used a satellite dish and Sky.

Alternatively, it could be that you need a signal booster connection at your end if the aerial is shared or you are in a poor reception area. The previous occupant may have taken the booster box with them.

Could be worth asking a neighbour.

There are two other flats, and their TVs are working fine. I don't think it's a problem with the aerial, because when I first plugged TV in, a No Signal error appeared, and after moving the cable about, the error message disappeared and the menu options appeared.

I'll just see what the help centre have to say.

If its an old tv with an analogue tuner you will not find any stations because they have been switched off countrywide. This is why you have a freeview box.

The freeview box will be connected on an auxiliary input. Switch the box on and try every input. Even without an aerial the box will display something on the tv screen.

Does the tv remote have buttons marked source or input?
