Don't for get to state what firewall program you use on your computer they pass this information to the IT department you are using as well at the same time you request a new ID and password.

When a new savings account is launched with a market-leading interest rate, the response can be overwhelming. If the provider is flooded with applications, teething problems and delays are apt to occur and the quality of service may leave something to be desired. As time goes by, the glitches are resolved, demand levels off and things should start to run smoothly. We have seen this pattern time and again, most recently with the Tesco Instant Access saver (also recommended by you know who) and now Bradford & Bingley's Internet Saver.
I have held eSavings a/cs with B&B since 2004 and customer service has always been good - not that it's necessary to contact them frequently once your a/c is up and running. Let's hope things return to normal again soon.Originally Posted by rulerofuniverse

If you have any savings account(s) anywhere, you really should be checking your provider's website regularly, if you want the best rates.
In common with most, the Bradford & Bingley site lists interest rates, past and present, for all its accounts, so there's no need for anybody to be left in the dark.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
I opened an E Saver account with Bradford and Bingley 3 months ago and have not been able to log into my account since.
The original password locked me out after just 1 attempt. The second password they sent me just gives me an error message (HTTP Eror 404)
They have stopped replying to my E Mails now.
So I have opened an E Saver account with Sainsburys Bank with no problems.0 -

I appied for that rate when it was first launched. Gave them a direct debit instruction via the application process. Advised me at the end of the application it had been succesful and would receive a Welcome pack. So far nothing arrived although I notice the DD has gone through to my bank and is setup. Have now decided to ditch them and put some more in my Coventry account.0 -

Never had any problems here using the B&B on-line accounts, I think that it must be problems on users PC's. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Update. Apparently when you apply for the account online you initially need to send a cheque to them and then afterwards they can take further amounts by direct debit. To be fair to the Bradford and Bingley it must have stated this when I applied but have fallen into the trap like so many others on here of not thoroughly reading the full terms and conditions.
So Bradley and Bingey I apologise sincerely for blaming you for my carelessness.0 -

Sorry but that is not true. You may get an e-mail that tells you that you can send a cheque to open your account but we have opened two accounts making the first payment using direct debit. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
I've had an esaver for some time, and "opened" a fixed rate account a few weeks ago. No option (yet) for "money in", no details of how else to fund it, and no response to my email over a week ago asking how to fund it. Working more like a postal account than an internet one so far.0

That is very interesting because when I spoke to them yesterday although the direct debit was in place they said I had to make the initial deposit by cheque. Also the advised me this is why I have not received their Welcome back because payment has not be made. However when I applied it asked me how much I wanted them to take and give dd details.
The advisor that is just for marketing purposes. What is she on.
Also I have checked this evening and see nothing to say I would have to submit a cheque. I just assumed I had made the error.
I am a new customer so perhaps that may make a difference.0
