Bradford and Bingley E saver problems! Anybody else had them?

I signed up to the B&B e saver at martin's recommendation, but have had nothing but problems ever since.

The main problem is that I can't log on!

I enter my customer number and my password, and it tells me it's incorrect and then eventually locks the account.

I've had them reset my password twice now, and the password they send me doesn't work either.

They've got my money, and charge me a fortune to call an operator (often kept on hold 15 mins or more) to get it reset, so i can repeat this cycle.

Has this happened to anybody else? I want to close the account and get my money back, but the interest rate is high. It's just a shame I can't do anything with it. Any advice?

Important! Do not open a Bradford & Bingley internet savings account.

When you are locked out of your account, they do not want to help you
to gain access, I am still waiting after three weeks for them to make
contact despite numerous emails & phone calls before 8pm when they are supposed to be open, the ansaphone is on!

Their latest email is as follows:

Thank you for contacting Bradford and Bingley.

Due to a high level of demand for our Internet Saver account we are
currently receiving a large volume of e-mails.

Please be assured that these are receiving our urgent attention, and
if your enquiry requires a response we will be in touch within 5
    working days.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

    Kind Regards

I do feel sorry for anyone having problems with them but i have three accounts with them and have NEVER had a problem. There is potential for any company to have isolated hitches so it seems a bit unfair to tell people to avoid them.

  • yes, all the same problems here. They send me new ID & password, I log in, it says change passwd, I do, then hit log-in button & it kicks me out. I'm on my 3rd passwd & I'm now fed up. I'll close the a/c asap.
    TIP - use 0800 11 33 33... it still takes 15 - 30 mins but at least it's free.
  • I'm sorry to all those having problems........we must be lucky they've been fine with us and their interest rate is good too.
  • I opened a Bradford & BIngley saver on Martins rec. but had nothing but problems signing in.
There phones are a nightmare I was kept on hold for 45 minutes each time I rang them and then I was told it was my fault, either my server or my computer. Eventually I was so cross I closed the account I recieved my cash but no statement I dont know how they reach the final figure at all. They are cowboys certainly not a company to put YOUR money into.

Regarding an old link on the website - Bradford & Bingley eSavers account – special offer for a limited time, 8% interest - there's a problem.

I am a very keen money-saver and signed up at the time for the offer. However, B&B failed to send me a Welcome Pack after signing up. After A LOT of emails to them I finally received the pack, but of course it was a considerable amount of time later.

I then went to pay money into the account, but couldn't. They advised me that this was because the account had now closed due to the payment delay.

B&B have the full correspondence about the lack of Welcome Pack and consequential delay, which was THEIR fault. I even contacted them saying that I was concerned they’d close the account because I hadn’t yet paid in, but reassured by staff there that this would not be the case.

Yet it was closed and now they have told me that my interest will just be at the standard rate when I pay some money in.

Needless to say, I won't be paying any money into the bank and now wonder if it was a B&B ploy all along, and that they deliberately failed to send me a Welcome Pack several times so that they wouldn’t have to pay a higher interest.

Has anyone else experienced the same problem or am I just unlucky?

    - I think they're con artists. Look at the other posts, people signing up to banks and then the bank changing the rates so people have to keep switching accounts with them to get something decent. 100% absurd. I am glad I don't have any money with them.

The people who haven't had any problems, probably don't know they're losing out on decent rates!

I've never been so badly treated by a bank. Customer service?! Whatever. :exclamati  :naughty:
