Thirded. Looked at a 107 then an i10. No contest.

Hmmm....much higher insurance with the i10. Only the VW Up is tempting me away from a Peugeot 107.

just got the i10 - found my insurance on this new car rather than my 10 year old one hardly went up!?

£20 a year tax. 5 year warranty. 5 years free RAC full cover. air-con. 5-door. good fuel economy.

if other cars cost you £160 a year in tax, you can save £1400 on this alone over the 10-year ownership of a car!

plus if you look on-line you can get it for around £6849 BEFORE trade-in:)

    i rest my/our case.........
  • ....and throw in the Fiat Panda as another option - it's being replaced this year so dealers are selling off old stock. Good honest car - read some of the reviews if you don't believe me (not the 2012 model).

I did have a go in an Aygo and compared to the Panda it's noisy and claustrophobic. There's only a marginal difference in costs (Panda is £35 tax, high 40s mpg in town). Built in Poland in the same factory as the 500 and the Ford Ka.

Some hilarious comments on here - they are the exact same car internally and mechanically, there is no difference whatsoever with the way they drive. Any Toyota, Citroen or Peugeot dealer will work on them as any software updates etc will work fine, just like getting your audi serviced at Seat/Skoda (which you can) - there is no sense whatsoever in buying anything but the cheapest and most basic model you can find. If you like the looks externally of one over the other then fair enough but don't kid yourself there's anything different about the Aygo.

We looked at a 107 urban lite before getting rid of our other car altogether, didn't even have remote locking (£30 from ebay and you're sorted) which at the time could be had for about £5.7k - silly cheap and even a PCP type deal worked out at about £80 a month. I don't think the same deal(s) are around now on them and please be aware that the cars are being replaced this year with facelifted models so I would be holding off until the manufacturers start trying to shift the "old" models.

I think they're cracking little cars, great sounding little engine and it's even pretty keen despite obviously lacking in any sort of pace - If I didn't need the extra space or we needed to have two cars again one of these would be what I'd buy.

There are always alternatives being offered at similarly low prices, i10, picanto and even the old panda were sold at about that price for a time.

Great thread folks - found it because (as the complete opposite of a petrol head who would never read up on such things) I spotted that the 107/aygo looked identical from the front looking into the dash & commented "wouldn't surprise me if they are made in the same factory". Found the level of inter company cooperation discussed here staggering!

Personally and given Toyota's recent bad press, I wouldn't vote for any of them. If you going to conduct a poll on small cars, then you should include the likes of Nissan, Kia, Fiat and Ford as well.

There are certainly other cars in the same class which can challenge the choices in this poll!

I'd have to recommend the Aygo. Why buy a C1 or 107 when they're giving a shorter warranty. All 3 Peugeot dealerships I've ever been in have had poor customer service, and my opinion of the local Citroen dealer isn't good either.

On the other hand, I've always found the staff at my local Toyota dealership to be excellent, and I've been a customer of theirs for over 10 years.
