Citroen C1, Peugeot 107 or Toyota Aygo
After initially planning on getting a used Yaris, I am now contemplating a new C1/107/Aygo. As these are all basically the same car, does anyone have any comments on who i'm likely to get the best deal off given that i'm part-exing.
Thanks

If you need an automatic (or MMT) then it's the Aygo.
The Aygo is only available with a petrol engine so you need to consider the other brands if you want a diesel. The man without a signature.0 -
Get the cheapest, the C1. As it's the same you should be able to get it serviced at Toyota or Peugot.0

I prefer the Aygo cosmetically, and think it will have a better resale value due the Toyota Brand. But its down to personal taste.
Try to get one with aircon, very good in either very cold or very warm weather! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Toyota were surprised that the Aygo was so successful given its premium role over the C1 and 107.The man without a signature.0

It's the same car made by the same company. Can't see why they'd turn it away.0

I read a report looking at the 3 cars - probably in autoexpress and it said to go for the cheapest one - C1.
I was chatting to my mate the other week and he had read somewhere else that after all the calculations they did the Aygo comes out cheapest over 3 years due to the higher residual cost.
I haven't seen the report my friend had read but I still have a feeling the C1 would probably come out cheapest as Citroen dealers are discount central and I think this would bring the 3 years cost down more for the C1.
Play them off against each other for similar spec cars I guess is the way to go.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep

I went down with my girlfriend to buy one of these, the 107 is a great looking car on the outside but inside feels very basic, poor switchgear, quite noisy inside, basic seats, poor radio and speakers etc (can't speak for the others in the range).
Eventually she bought a 207 instead, worked out to be cheaper than the 107 (on finance) as it has a higher residual value and the APR on the 207 was 5.9% as against 11% on the 107. The 207 is a totally different car, far quieter, better ride, comfy seats, nicer radio, switchgear, styling. Still can't quite believe it was cheaper than the 107!
At the time the 207 (on the passport scheme) was £149 down then £149 a month for 3 years with a 5.9% APR. At the end you either hand the car back or pay off the final installment ~ £4k. When we worked all the figures out the bank rate was 11% so it was half the interest rate and you only finance half the cost of the car. If you plan keeping it you could put the other half away or bank loan it after the 3 years.
I just checked, this offer is finished (the offer being they pay your deposit ~ £2k) and now you have to pay the £1200 deposit tooBut worth keeping your eye out for other offers, it's a dead time for selling cars now

No idea who will be best. We have an Aygo and dealer discounts were tiny in January this year - £250 max.
We wanted 5 doors, aircon and remote central locking. With this spec the Aygo '+' was cheaper than the Pug and Citroen. IIRC Pug and Citroen load other things on once you go up the spec so it works out more expensive. My wife also preferred the look of the Toyota.
If you just want a basic spec go for the cheapest.
We've had ours Aygo a year in Jan 08 and it has been faultless.0 -
I was watching a rerun of topgear the other day, they had those three cars on. They said that they are all exactly the same car (engine wise), with only a few differences in appearance. And the one they would go for was the Citroen because it is cheaper.0
