Mine did the same - & i though what a load of crock was gonna throw it .. Well I phoned Shark and there are 3 filters .. I only thought it had 2... on the top dust cap there is a black cone shape with holes .. take it off and there is a filter that will be full of DUST .. I then had to unblock the hose again and its back to working great .... hope this works 4 u ..
I take it you didn't read the post stating they got a refund, not to mention this thread was from back in March.

Why respond to repeat what you said before, and not address what was raised in the reply to your previous post?

I love it when there is a start, a middle and an end.

In future, only buy cleaners from the HOOVER company.

That red thing with the face is rubbish. Dyson is pants and we have now read enough about Shark.

Hoover only. (and I never got those free flights to Malaga in in 1993)
  • Worse than it spits out dust every time I switch it off.

I don't know what to suggest re the rollers, but I have been having massive problems with my Shark Duo (the purple one) losing suction, and leaving large piles of dirt. I realised that I had misinterpreted a pic on the troubleshooting guide and there was in fact another filter that I had missed.

In case this helps you: in the centre of the round dust compartment (ie not the round compartment that houses the foam filter), there is a cylindrical part with a black plastic top. It doesn't look removable, but a twist will release it, and you can pull it upwards to reveal another filter...which in my case was totally caked with dust! It now works perfectly.
  • Slightly irrelevant to this thread as I have never owned a shark. I have a kirby (old fashioned but very very thorough), Dyson (brilliant until I bought one with a sliding cannister that didn't) - and will never buy a stick one so Dyson's are out for me. I now use a cannister Miele. Wasn't as expensive as I thought, in fact, cheaper than the Dyson I had to return. To be honest I suspect my cannister Miele is easier to manouvre than any 'stick' vacuum.

I would appreciate a lighter hoover as have a few physical problems but I'd rather have a vacuum that works for as long as I want it to and with superior suction. Stick vacuums don't seem to do as good on either of these ideas. Think they are a bit of a craze but will die a natural death.

Thanks for the information. I have a cordless Shark vac. and there is an arrow (clockwise direction) on that centre "tube". I did intend contacting them about that before going in all gorilla to check if it was removeable.

Edited to add - tried it and it does remove and it did require cleaning (IF130 cordless model). A note of caution, it doesn't remove on some Shark models, e.g. IF200 cordless. No arrow and a different fixing. Yes, I own both models!

Y Dyson has stopped making corded ones altogether which I don't think would have happened if cordless ones are all inferior to corded uprights.

    .

More to do with the Eu regulation limiting the watt's that a corded vacuum are limited too.

For cordless you can't beat a Vax for running time over a shark. But the shark cleans our carpets better.
If only we could find a way to stop the daughters hair from clogging up the rollers. Yes I have thought of kicking her out :rotfl:

Hi, I've had a similar problem with my Shark NZ801UKT anti-hair wrap upright corded Vaccum  This leaves a narrow band or line of debris when moving it back and fro. Obviously I've checked that suction is good (it lifts the carpet up), pipes are unblocked, filters are clean and dust bowl is empty.

It's definitely a roller issue. By using it on a cleaner floor, or by switching from hard to soft floor (or possibly the other way round) you can slow the roller speed which helps a bit. If you take the roller out it solves the problem completely, although of course you don't then get the claimed benefits of the roller!

Could the previous posters describe if it's exactly the same problem, and the model number of the Shark vacuum they had problems with?
