Useless Shark duo clean vacuum

I bought a corded duo clean vacuum in January. It was ok at first but the suction with the hand tools has always been very poor. Worse than it spits out dust every time I switch it off. As well as a brush bar it has a roller which is in my opinion too large for the casing and dust does not get sucked into the dust cup. Instead it accumulates round the roller and gets matted on the roller. The design is poor and I don't feel it's fit for purpose. Am I entitled to ask for a refund? It's not actually faulty just badly designed for what it's supposed to do!

Have a read up on your rights but I don't believe you are.

What kind of flooring do you have ?

Did you research if it was more suited to 1 type of flooring than another ?

    That's just your opinion!

There are many others, myself included who find the Shark probably one of the best vacuums they have ever had the pleasure of owning. I don't experience any of the "issues" you're having and totally disagree with your "assessment" of it's design features.

It's the opinion of many others if you Google "Shark vacuum spitting out debris". The filters are clean, the dust cup is empty, the brush bar and roller are freshly cleaned but still it won't do the job it's designed to do and is claimed to do by the manufacturer! Perhaps yours is an older one and is better than the latest model.

I'm sure if you Google enough you'll find "issues" with all products, it's the nature of the beast, there's always someone who will complain about something.

All vacuums will "spit out" a tiny amount of dust that's not fully gone up through the suction hose when it's switched off. Also, I can't see how using the hand tools is using less suction either given they come directly of the main handle and hose therefore the suction is exactly the same as it is at the floor head, are you sure you have the suction adjustment switch fully closed? I've never had any issues with the brush bar or roller, yes you will get some accumulation of dust/fluff there but it doesn't stop the vacuum from performing and it happens with all vacuums, and Shark thoughtfully provide tools to clean the area.

I really don't recognise your "problems" with the Shark, I actually think a lot of thought has gone into it's design and it works very well.

Have you looked to see if you have any blockages in the hose?

Are you sure it is assembled correctly and no blockages?

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I must admit that I am very happy with my Shark. Much more effective than Dyson.

You are entitled to ask .
Its not faulty so the vendor does not have to refund .
You could also approach the manufacturer if different .

If you can prove via an independant enginners report ( not google ) your not fit for purpuse claim .
You would have a better chance of some goodwill .

Thanks for your replies. I have checked every part is clean and unblocked. I've always had dysons and they have been far superior and not spat out debris. I will be getting another as this machine is hopeless.

How about a few pics or video of just how "hopeless" this machine is?
