Will catch up later, but well done to the losers & hugs for those who didn't do as well as they hoped.

Welcome back GTQ. Glad you had a good holiday. I think we all have to do a bit of damage limitation after a holiday! I tend to come back around WI day and then have a week of damage limitation beforehand!

There was a recipe in the SW Jan/Feb mag for a chilli made with jackfruit, which someone in my group brought along for one of our taster sessions. It was yummy, so I promptly bought a couple of cans of jackfruit in Sainsburys but haven’t used them yet :o. You can find them close to the cans of kidney beans ;). The jackfruit gets sometimes compared to the consistency of pulled pork, so quite meaty but obviously vegetarian. HTHS.

:T well done on your loss sirens. 2lb is good.:D

I used to muddle up HEAs and Bs. I now think of HEB is for Bread.

It's a couple of weeks left to Mothers' Day Frankie, but do you know the venue/menu yet? I think it helps to look it up before you go and make your decision rather than be tempted on the day. I'm also well known among my friends for refusing pudding. That's easy for me though as I don't have a sweet tooth. I often have a pot of tea while they're chomping through the crumble and custard!:D

Damage limitation/reining in seems to be a way of life for me. It's my choice I suppose as I could stick 100% to plan, have some more HEXs and some sensible syns but my life's not like that. So I lurch between holidays and eating out and then play serious catch up.;) But that's the glory of SW, it's flexible and it's sustainable.:D

Last night's fish was tasty but I felt that the topping (tomatoes, garlic and balsamic) overwhelmed the fish. I would do it again but with a meatier piece of fish like cod or it might work with chicken.

I just love chips denise but I find myself having to check through my meal plan to make sure they don't appear too often. It's not that there's anything wrong with SW chips but we do need variety.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB toast, baked beans, fried egg, bacon, HEA1 milk for drinks
L: JP with cottage cheese, spring onion, beetroot and pickled cabbage
D: SW Bolognese with tagliatelle and HEA2 Parmesan;)
    Syns: None:D

That's me too - although I don't eat out as often you Maman, although it's more frequently in the summer when we tend to go away in the motorhome at least a couple of times a month!

I obviously wasn't thinking straight when I did my menu plan! Like you I try not to have chips too often!

Thanks for that TTD, I love gravy so anything syn free is a winner for me. When I fry onions, I always soften them first (chopped) in the microwave with a splash of water. They fry up so much quicker that way.

Hope you enjoyed the theatre bubbs and your meal wasn't too off plan. ;)

Burger in a white brioche bun:D with crispy fries:rotfl::rotfl: was lovely:T
Least it was portion controlled not like the all you can eat:eek:

    Evening all :D
Well done to all the losers:T:T

  • Me and modem fed and now watered.

I made her some lean beef mince in a leek and potato sauce, mixed with fried onions & pepper, plus rice with pearl barley & quinoa.

I had a vegan burger with the rice plus fried onions & pepper.
Now I had some Japanese salted pea snacks and got a wine. drinking-wine-smiley-emoticon.gif

I've just made myself a chilli cheddar sandwich as well which is rather fiery, so need another drinking-wine-smiley-emoticon.gif or two ... :D

I was good the rest of the day though.

Don't know if anyone saw the 'Save Money, Lose Weight' programme. I watched it on catch up. It compares the success of various diets over 28 days and calculates the cost of each per pound lost. I think it's been on before.

One of last night's diets was Pinch of Nom. They called it a calorie controlled diet which confused me. I thought the Chubby Chubs did SW??

Another thing was it seemed very expensive although they didn't really explain where the money went.

    Did anyone else see it?:)

maman I've been using the pinch of nom website this week for a few different recipes and they are now weight watchers friendly, slimming world friendly and give you the calories. I think they are just trying to cover all angles and are building a business around their original blog. They have a book coming out in the next month or so.

This is where I'm going for Mother's Day and I'm going in the evening

    https://www.thethorntreeinn.co.uk

The have an 'on the grill' part with fish and steak that you can have with salad so I think I'll go with something from there and a pot of tea to have afterwards actually sounds lovely and relaxing so I think I'm going to steal that idea maman

    Todays food:

B: overnight oats (HEB) (yog and mixed summer berries and a dash of vanilla essence)
    L: crustless quiche (HEA)
T: Farfalloni con funghi (1 syn) (pork mince, onions, stock, mushrooms, cornflour) and salad

Apple, satsuma, grapes through out the day and milk (HEA) for hot drinks.

I've actually enjoyed doing a bit more cooking this week. I think it's because I've sought out some new recipes.
