What really upset me was that she implied I was going to cause her to lose money because she couldn't show anyone around because of the packed stuff :(
Remind her your right to quiet enjoyment of your home ends at the end of your tenancy, not in the preceding month for her convenience. You've paid to be there, she can wait until you've left.

Yes, I'm definitely going to now. If they get in touch with me by phone, I'm going to request they contact me by email only as they made me feel very uncomfortable, and I'm not going to allow access for the remainder of my tenancy.

I appreciate it's her house but nobody has the right to make me feel like that. I was in tears when they left.

You're missing the point. At the moment it isn't her house, it's yours.

This is one of the fundamental rights of a tenancy - while you have an existing tenancy it's your legal home not hers.

Pshhh we had 4 viewings with boxes taking up our living room and bedroom and our agent still let it (yay no further viewings whilst in between 2 houses) so that's a non issue. My agent never even bought it up.
  • Let me get this right. She wants you to pay rent so that she can show people round so that she doesn't miss out financially. Basically you're paying for her.

I’m actually thinking about writing a letter of complaint to the agency about how the agent and the landlord made me feel. It mad

    Please don't do this.

It will achieve absolutely nothing except taking up your time and getting you more stressed for no good reason. You've already decided that you're leaving, ignore the LL until you leave and then claim your deposit back. Nothing more is needed.

Don't do this. It's a waste of your energy, and it will almost certainly fall on deaf ears (at best) or just antagonise her further (at worst).

(i.e. If you feel you must do it, then do it AFTER you get your deposit back!)
(Although I could be wrong, I often am.)
