House on the market for 12 weeks - not much interest

My parents sold their house in Beckenham. It's very popular with families for obvious reasons.
Problem is, prices demanded from sellers are so high, buyers want everything completed (turnkey?). A dated kitchen/bathroom can really harm sales prospects.
My parents buyers gutted the house, ripped out all character, let the well maintained garden get neglected but they did do the loft conversion.
Bought for £460k 4 years ago, now want £675k?! HAHAHAHA!!0 -

Which one is it, link is to a page and nothing at 620k.
Prices round there make my eyes water, divide the price by 3 for the north west, probably by 4 for the north east.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0 -

Still out of Crashy price range, what's the rent like 12 months rent price and he may show some interest.0 -

Bottom line is that cheaper property is good for ordinary people, why would anyone argue against that, unless they are a money/mortgage lender or skim their living from these practices?0 -

In the last 4 years? Not surprised at all. Not sure why you are. Have you followed popular London markets? I bought a house in 2013 for £274k and sold 4 years later for £515k. It was normal in many areas. Beckenham has always been desirable. Without a link, nobody knows why it won't sell. May be price, may be an elephant in the room the OP has stopped noticing!2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0 -
Over priced, says it all really"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

I think your timing might be slightly off as once spring properly hits is when a lot of parents start to think about moving to be in catchment area of good schools, hoping to be in before the end of the school summer holidays.
Personally I've only ever sold once prior to springtime arriving & the property took ages to sell, but then ended up with 2 good offers on the same day. Other properties I've sold have found a buyer quickly & I always have put it down to the time of year.
Beckenham is a nice, sought after area & it's possible Brexit is causing people to hold off. To me, even without seeing the property, it doesn't sound overpriced going by your description. Are the photographs good? Only some ea's seem particularly bad at taking decent photos to show the house off to it's best advantage. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
