I made a list of thirty two things that need doing in the garden, in the order they need doing

    It was calming last night.

    Today more alarming!

I decided against the idea of a double bed as it would take up too much space. I am going to set up my room so that Alexa can turn on a light or two ;) instead. I have bought a new smaller chest of drawers to make it so I have more space and a better flow. It will still be quite cramped but easier to manage I hope.

Work was awful today. Resignation date looming. Not at all sure what to do.

It's so tricky isn't it with that deadline looming. I have seriously considered it but worry about finding another permanent contract. A lot of posts around here are fixed term.

EXACTLY. And I get it, schools don't want to take a chance on staff, try before you buy plus budgets.

But it is all fixed term, too far, maternity. Not something I could go for a mortgage with.

It got me down quite badly yesterday. I am missing D ick's support, although every one I work with is lovely he was the most experienced and invested. So awful what happened to him. I really should be leaving just on that basis. So frustrating.

The main thing yesterday was something I told EVERYONE who would listen (turned out no one was!) would happen happened. And jeopardised stuff I had worked very hard on and it was so bloody upsetting and frustrating. So wrong and weak of them.

Realistically though I know I need to stay. There are no jobs. I am expensive and the jobs out there are far away and temporary. I know this will count against me with the D ick and morally for me it makes no sense but I need to pay bills and eat. I need to be out of debt. Give myself options. I need to be in work to find work.

I am truly not happy about it. However it is the logical, rational thing to do. Dare I say the grown up thing to do.

    It isn't.

I think I have to make sure my life outside of work is bigger than my life in work. so take a step back and not get involved. Make sure other stuff takes up my time.

I was chatting with someone about jobs and I've been amazed that some vacancies are restricting pay to M1-M3 which immediately knocks back anyone with a few years experience from applying, unless they are willing to take a pay cut.
