Keep it in your boot or glovebox expressly to cover your numberplate from scammers.
Of course be quick to stop and remove it once on street/round the corner out of sight, as it is illegal on street. But it is NOT illegal on private land to refuse to lay your data out on a plate for a third party scammer to collect just because you've gone to Tesco, or a Hospital, Hotel, etc.
If everyone did that, there would be NO ANPR PCNs and these firms would die.
*on foot, when returning to you car, make a point of looking whether the exit ANPR camera is pointing ''in'' or ''out'' and cover the numberplate it will point at.
Interesting. But some have individual officers going round taking photographs. Are some people being captured by ANPR and then fined, with no ticket on windscreen?0 -
Not out drinking and celebrating your success, surely? Please have some regard for the poor PPC, who will be licking their wounds tonight. Heartless! :rotfl:
Stitched them up like a kipper!
Umkommas - I have now emailed the DVLA at the email address you provided on the 'successful appeals' thread. I have asked them to investigate and have quoted the POPLA decision - just the section re landowner authority or lack of it.
I have asked them to look into how many tickets have been issued at this site and to get onto Secure a Space to get them to refund motorists who have been misled and therefore paid their 'fines'.
I mentioned that they had no legal right to obtain my data from the DVLA and that I am considering what action to take (against Secure a Space) regarding misuse of my personal data.
I am not expecting an answer anytime soon from the DVLA so will keep chasing and will do a FOI if needed as you suggest.0 -

Take a look next time you go to ANY Supermarket:
Tesco - Highview
Waitrose - Britannia
Sainsburys - Horizon (or sometimes, Euro Car Parks)
Lidl - Athena
Aldi, Asda, Morrisons - ParkingEye
All of the above operate ANPR cameras only. No windscreen PCNs. No person does anything useful like policing disabled bays or picking up litter or directing traffic in busy times, they just FLEECE the public, genuine shoppers or not, never mind if they are disabled or were held up due to having young kids - £100 fine.
If EVERY shopper covered their rear numberplate when passing an outward-pointing exit camera (I STRESS THIS IS FOR PRIVATE LAND ONLY - NOT ON STREET OF COURSE!) these firms would be dead in 6 months.
Quite right too. Utter scum firms that need removing from this country entirely.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
