I've just checked this and my MBNA specific e-mail address has changed to my Halifax specific e-mail address so it looks like some records merging may have occurred.

Does the e-mail address and other errors you identified reflect details you may have entered for a previous Halifax or Lloyds account you may have had?

    Not just me then!

I too have a Halifax account, the email for that account is the same as MBNA (no issue for security using same email address I believe) but part of it was missing on the new website.

I think they are cross referencing and merging records which imo is dangerous as many people use different email addresses/passwords etc for different cards.

I've put all the details right and everything seems to be working now, only time will tell I guess.
  • Can anyone find the new rewards site please? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
  • I had to revalidate all my credit and debit cards for Google Pay today, having just purchased a new phone. The other credit and debit card providers all used SMS to send validation codes, as they (and previously MBNA) have always done when dealing with an established Google Pay account on a new device. Now, to do it with MBNA, you have to phone them and clear their security with, among other things, the newly established memorable information phrase. No big deal and actually to my mind more secure than the SMS protocol - though I think the latter is low risk with an established account as opposed to setting up a new one. My only gripe is that it took 15 minutes to do something that took about 30 seconds previously, and still does with competitors.

The perfectly polite and helpful call centre agent explained that all their systems were running very slowly at present. She seemed hopeful that this would improve in the future.

Has anybody managed to see a statement?
    Mine says
    "March 2019
    (account inactive)

    No account activity.
    No statement available. "

But my direct debit went out OK last week and the balances seem correct.

The statement seems to be the only place now that you can check when promotional rates change,

I have the same problem when I login today to view my statements...

Have they done away with having to set up the direct debit before your next statement is produced? I set my DD up on a day or 2 after statement date, and it comes up on screen that it will be taken for the current payment date.

Pretty standard for the LLoyds/TSB/Halifax/BOS system. It generally means your account has closed off for the month but the bill has not yet been produced. My TSB sat like that for 5 days over Easter.
