What's the cheapest PAYG SIM .. for old phone
Options
I have just upgraded my phone, to a super shiny larger phone :j
My previous phone was faulty, not possible to turn off apps without switching phone off / on again.
I can still use this old phone while out n about, getting my 10,000+ steps a day .. to count steps and listen to podcasts. Just in case my wife wants anything, I thought a cheap PAYG SIM would be useful.
She could call if required.
Do PAYG Sims have a time limit ?
OK a £10 SIM will do, but I'll probably never ever call out, so was wondering whether or not there's a cheaper option
thanks

If it’s an old phone (ie 2G only) then o2 classic which is 3p per minute, 2p per text (and 1p per MB which is probably immaterial).

If the phone is a bit newer and has 3G capability then ThreeUK have 3-2-1 PAYG with the same charges.

If the phone is 3G capable check whether o2 or Three have better coverage where you want to use the phone and decide based on that.====0 -
And with O2 Classic PAYG you do have to make a chargeable call every 6 months to keep the number alive.0

Three PAYG data reward sim is probably the cheapest
Free
321 tariff
200mb data a month free.

A cheap option would be Asda PAYG sim, EE network, minimum top up is £5, free SIM online or 50p in store, same requirement for one call / text now & again, I just send text to my other phone, job done, fiver lasts yearsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

That's the sort of thing I am after
Just pay £5, make at least one call / text every 6 months and I have a working mobile that I can be contacted on in an emergency.
My old phone Sony Z3 Compact is easier to stick in my pocket while out 'n about getting some steps, or at the gym.0 -

Those calls on Asda Mobile are significantly more expensive than either Three 3-2-1 or O2 Classic (you can also top up £5 with Three).
O2 & Three are 3p per minute 2p per text 2p per MB
Asda Mobile is 8p per minute 4p per text 5p per MB====0
