Im on my third attempt at being an avon rep at the age of 40+.

The first time was as a teenager and the second when my kids were little about 11 years ago.

I dont remember the orders having things missing in the past but I must say that since doing it this time.......I dont think Ive had one correct order.

My last order even sent a bracelet in place of a necklace that I cant say Ive even seen in a brochure.

Much like most industries these days. I bet they pay peanuts to the order pickers who arent interested whether they get it right or not.

Im still also waiting for the free eye cream I was promised for completing 5 orders. Ive now done 9/10. Must chase it up with my sales leader. Again!.

No, it'll be an automated picking system mainly.

Would you prefer to be sent nothing if they haven't got an item you ordered ? They've attempted to provide something else instead (a higher value item too), which you can return if you don't want it.

  • If my customer had wanted a bracelet she would have ordered one surely?

So the answer to your question is yes......I would rather be sent nothing instead of going through all the returns process which I seem to be doing with almost every order.

Fair enough, but at least you can see that it wasn't an error...

I thought that this order was ok until I was making up the orders and found that I had an empty box. Avon are going to replace it, but I hate to make excuses to customers as to why they don't have their full order. Another three weeks is a long to wait when you're looking forward to receiving something.

Of course it is an error!! They sent me the wrong product. How can that not be an error?

I work in a restaurant and don't think a customer would be happy with chicken if they had ordered steak ?? Same thing as far as Im concerned.

  • They seem to forget things alot...couldnt people just say that they are missing an item when they're not?

I havent had a problem yet (probs because i havent had that many orders!) the only thing is the seem to come all taty if they're in boxes..

The product you ordered was not available at the time your order was put together. That may be a problem with the supply chain (or may simply be that it was a very in-demand item) but it is not a problem with the picking of the order, as we have already established.

Giving you an alternative product is an attempt to help you. It is your right of course to return that item if it is not acceptable.

    Hi :)

I started with Avon yesterday, I am on C7. My area manager left me with 40 books and a HUGE territory! I didn't realise until I came on here! I've got 13 streets, i've worked out on just three of the streets (these are the ones I am focusing on at the moment) there are over 200 houses  I am not going to get round them in just over a week with 40 books! I'm glad I have this big territory though, every campaign I will get more efficient and also know who is likely to order so should be able to add on at least one street per campaign.

I went round one street yesterday and either posted or gave 24 books, I was going to pick them up later today, my AM said to leave them for a day but looking on here, you guys seem to think longer is better. The thing is if I leave them until tomorrow, they might think I am unreliable because I have put that I will come today?

I have included a voucher, saying "meet your new Avon Rep" 10% discount if you spend over £15 and then it's got my contact details on. I was going to put one in all 40 brochures but my printer ran out of ink  So now I have to get the others back before I can post my next lot.

I didn't have any plastic bags either so I have just sent them as they are, I've now ordered 100 off ebay for £5 included p&p which might not be the cheapeat but they'll be here by tomorrow.

I've already got four people who are definitely going to order, these are friends and family and I know two of the houses I went to yesterday will probably order from what they said.

Wow I am really waffling aren't I?? Just wanted to say, thanks to everyone, this thread is great, I have got so many tips and advice from it! Hopefully I will be able to contribute more when I have done a couple of campaigns.

Oh before I go....do you think I should collect my books today, as I said I would or leave it until tomorrow?

    Thanks
    Hayley
 Think happy & you'll be happy
