Im not an Avon rep - just a customer, but I try to look at this thread from acustomers point of view, I def agree that a couple of days is not enough time, ideally a week, with part of that time being a weekend, as I know personally I tend to sort things out like that at a weekend, kond of pleasure and a relax moment. xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0

Nope, made them myself. I really liked the body shop cards, so I 'stole' the idea.
I give at least 3 days before I pick up the catalogue.0 -
Just started doing this myself! Can echo a lot of thoughts in last couple of threads, im actually feeling very nervous about approaching people to ask them if interested, even at work so its going slowly!
Did the door dropping off things with a few accessible flats in my block and the houses nearby - out of 10 possible, two orders, two maybes and three nos, and still to pick up three catalogues. Think ill get enough to make first order but then might struggle - going to team up with my sister and use her workplace too - see if we can both make something.
My biggest problem at present - in the whole street there is noone else doing avon according to manager BUT its all flats! Theres literally hundreds of potential customers but how do I go about approaching them all? Leaflets? Ringing flat buzzers? Its definately there to be tapped but just thinking how to do it - would prob tackle a block at a time but not sure how to approach - any tips welcome! Could definately get quite a few customers id imagine.:j Debt-Free-Wannabe! :jDeclutter/Ebay/Savings0 -
I've just finished off printing and cutting up my Loyalty Cards. I didn't really want to do 'free gifts for orders over £20' or '10% off orders over X' it would confuse me too much :rotfl:.
I think they are cute! I want to have one myself but its a bit pointless really. Anywho, I thought I'd share:
wow I love the cards and I think the idea is great!! Do you have heart stickers? How will you give them out and remember who has a card? How much are you giving off the order when they have got 10 hearts?? Last question (I promise!)... can I pinch the idea?0 -
I'm giving out the card when they've paid for their first order - so they'll get it with their products.
Every time they spend £15 they can tick a heart off - they can't cheat because I'll have their order totals in my book so I can check against that. Once they receive their 10th heart they get £10 off their next order...So they have to spend £150 to get £10 back. I was going to do 15 hearts but I thought that was greedy, instead I slyly upped it to £15 instead of £10 spends
Sure you can do it, you don't need my permission - after all this thread is about Hints and Tips.:p0 -
Thanks everyone, I appreciate the input. I have been given 3 streets to try and also the name of an estate that hasn't been done in a while but only have 40 brochures and deadline is Thursday next week so I don't have much time to get books out. I think I will post some tomorrow and pick up Monday but it would probably be leaving it too late to put them back out again for this campaign wouldn't it?
By the way sp0z, I love the loyalty cards, what a great idea!0 -
Hiya
I've have only just started doing this (expecting delivery of my first order tomorrow, wahoo!) and on my first campaign, I managed to get just over £400 of orders!
Am proper chuffed and was really amazed how easy it was to do... but maybe am tempting fate with that statement lol
What I did was highlight the offers I thought were really good on the order form, so it was easy for the customer to see if they were pushed for time. Another thing was I only knocked on the doors and spoke to the people before I gave the brochure, that way I got pretty much all my books back.
On one round I left the books for a week, but feel that was a mistake as got the least amount of orders from them, not sure if people just forgot about them because they knew they had a while to do it.
Also looked through next campaign book to see what offers were in there, and ordered samples of those items to try and increase sales on those.
I do have a designated territory and have already been able to increase that from the sales leader. So far, I have not really had any bad experiences (apart from a couple of items being sold out and a couple of mistakes on my invoice lol). Not sure if I would ever be able to do this as a full time job, but it'll pay for a great holiday!
Another tip (i'm not sure if this has all been covered previously) but I made a point of looking at the internet exclusive offers everyday as some items the customer had ordered at full price, were on the clearance part and cheaper to buy?0 -

I returned some items, but missed the delivery guy, I phoned Avon and they sent a guy round to collect the returns, I got my book signed etc but no one has credited me the money. it has been about 3 weeks now, I suppose I should just ring them.....ugh.
any suggestions?
