such good tips here!
thanks for starting this post!!:T Thanks to all lovely MSE'rs - you are great friends :T0 -
Save up bits and pieces from special offers and freebies . Do a reccomend a friend offer. Offer mystery free item or a certain product free when friend spends x amount.
I used to do a free item if you spent x amount also and in my area over £20 did not work i found i had to say over £10.
When i left i gave a full list of customers THIS WAS NOT PASSED ON avon do not want new reps to avoid certain houses they want you to leave books with everyone every campaign. They assume if old rep never got the customer they were useless or lazy or just didnt' try hard enough . Its common sense if a householder said dont' leave a book or i am not interested or i chucked in in the bin not to leave one again.
I never made people feel they had to order but i always let them know how much they were appriciated. My favourites always good notice of special offers
Include your email addresss for queries and late orders i used to give a few extra days for email orders and one lady regulary ordered late this way but for a £20+ order its worth it! She liked it if i emailed her a last chance to order reminder as well lol
Its ok to be friendly and chatty but if you hear a soap on it might put customer off you so dont' keep people on the doorstep on cold winter evenings when they are watchign eastenders etc0 -
Also why not set your own group up on ebay (you need over 50 feedback to do this) i did have one but since i gave up its kinda died lol. We had a nicely friendly group and had a secret area manager who was a lol we kept it private so we could say exactly what we thought of certain avon ideas. If you do i will email members of my old group and ask if they want to move groups i am sure a few will. It was quite handy to sell the odd thing to each other when it was out of stock , share tips and ideas and ofcourse money saving sites that sold stampers to save writing all details down on every order form. cheapest plastic bag hunt you get the idea . good luck !0

one thing which i found that helps is looking through the customer order and cross referencing it with the book to check that the customer has not missed out on an offer with a product they have bought, if its 1 and 1 free or they have ordered something which is cheaper in a set, i will order the extra and write them a note on delivery stating the reason for the extra items.
so far all my customers have been really happy and commented that i could have kept the extra for myself but had shown honesty - thus increasing their trust to order more!!!:T Thanks to all lovely MSE'rs - you are great friends :T0 -
Maysie, I started to wonder a couple of days ago about setting up a dedicated email address for avon orders... seeing you post I recon it's a good idea ta. As well as reminding people if they want it, I can also then email them to remind them the amount and delivery date
The eBay group sounds a fab idea but the problem is my feedback is only in it's 40's. I didn't know they existed! lol

have you joined flissys.com its a chatroom/lead site for avon reps
Just so everyone is up to date - Flissys.com is a forum for Avon Sales Leaders. (I wondered why I was getting new memberships from reps now I know...lol)
We have nearly finished work on a new forum for reps which should go live Dec/Jan. It will be totally free with forums/document library and chatroom.
Will keep you posted.

another bit that i am doing is keeping track of what my customers ordered since i started as a rep (6 months ago) and have been ordering products from the rep only books to give to the customers as a special christmas gift from avon
not spending too much but giving them something they will like but did not have the chance to buy and also did not expect:T Thanks to all lovely MSE'rs - you are great friends :T0 -
