Avon - Hints and Tips?

Hi all,
I'm new to this thread and was wondering how I might get hold of an item which I was told was "out of stock" on my invoice and which drew no response when I put a message on the 'Wanted' page on the Avon website The item in question is the Aquamarine Bra in size 38b (£7 in clearance, Hello Tomorrow 12). I see it now appears in Campaign 13 brochure on page 195, but at the higher price of £10!! :mad: :mad:

Sorry I can't help.

But I have been trying to get some items on that wanted page for about 5 campaigns! But it never appears on the wanted pages??? I have sent the emails about 10 times each, across this time. I have checked spelling and grammar so it’s defiantly not the reason why they are ignoring my emails.

Any ideas?

Hi All,

How do you fare with perfume sales? Im a bit tempted by the U (forgotten the name and dont have it infront of me) perfume offer in HT where you can buy three and make a bit of profit but a bit concerned it'll be a waste of money. I've seen HT harping on about Christian Lacriox perfume being a top seller but i havent actually sold a single one! Also i nearly bought lots of those funny ANEW pen things for deep wrinkles but glad i didnt now.
Does anyone else take HT up on these offers and do they work?

I always order the offer things cos you don't get charged for two campaigns, so you can always return them if need be

I do well with my purfume sales but I've heard others dont.

I don't bother with the money makers. I thought about it once too but then worked out that it wasn't worth the hassle. The £8.50 cream is only £13 when you take off the £5 voucher, then it's only £9.75 when you take off the 25% commission. So by buying in advance you're looking to earn an additional £1.25 per pot yes - but that's only if you can sell it. And if you can't, you've got all the hassle or returning the items and filing for credit etc. If it's likely you'll sell some then great but if not, it's a lot of hassle for £1.

My personal take on these things is that it's best to let the Avon do the work for you. Put out the brochures, chuck in the odd sample or comp then leave people to order what they want to order. Otherwise you wind up putting in all this extra time and effort for a tiny increase in profit that isn't really worth the time!

Thanks Elle, i think you're right. I'd feel a bit weird as well saying to people on their doorsteps "oh and by the way i have this lovely perfume" etc etc. I have tried out comps and things like this in the past and it just seems to be ten times as much work but for not even two times the profit. Now i just drop off the brochures and hope for the best!! The key is to get as many brochures out as possible! haha x

I just got in all bar 7 of the brochures from my estate - and my orders total just £54.

I'm absolutely gutted

ETA: All bar 3 brochures back now. 4 No Orders, 2 I-Know-Won't Orders and 1 says she probably wants something so I can go back tomorrow. Apart from the few brochures I put up town - I'm screwed this campaign.

Bloody economy panic. Don't people realise that they can get most of their basics cheap from Avon?!

Well you'll all have a really good laugh at this. Put in my additional 11 order (not 12 - getting confused) and then the next day still hadn't had the confirmation e-mail and no sign of it on the website page. PANIC!!! This has happened before when I paid once and the payment went through as far as I was concerned when I did it but didn't to them.. SO....... re-do the additional order - this morning both orders on my webpage bit and 2 e-mails in my inbox. :rolleyes: So I have 2 x 46 products coming. Then one of my customers comes up and asks when her stuff will be here - she left it on my desk when I was on holiday and I flustered for a bit as I couldn't remember taking an order from her. Mentioned it to my colleague who said "oh yeah it's on your bottom drawer!" :mad: So I have another 2 items to order tonight !!!!! at a cost of £2.50 as the girl wants them for her holidays........ I am lost for words.......

well fortunately a lot of it is stuff from the sale brochure so if it turns up I can flog it I guess - but I'm just soooooo annoyed!
