Hi, has anyone else had problems getting their delivery this week?
Mine was supposed to arrive on wednesday, but didnt, i had a message on my answermachine on thursday saying that due to driver shortages, they wouldnt be delivering until today (saturday), and up til now it still hasnt turned up.
Obviously the customers at work were expecting me to bring in their items yesterday, and ive had to put them off until monday, but getting worried now incase it doesnt turn up.
Ive tried the telephone number for express parcels this morning, but the office is closed for the weekend :(

This is my first campaign order, and its really putting me off doing another :(

That's awful on your first campaign. What a way to put people off repeat orders. I've just dished out my second campaign and have had a couple of small problems but nothing too bad so far.

I think the phone lines must open at about 8:30 on weekdays? I rang up on Friday about a missing item and got through shortly before 9am so that's why I think they open early. Is that early enough for you to call before you go to work?

Good luck getting it sorted. If you've come this far you might as well give it three campaigns to see if it's a one off problem in your area.

Hello all!! I signed up as a rep at the beginning of last week. I did a round about 12 years ago and thought i would start again. Am not too impressed with my sales leader though. She came round with my first lot of books and said she didnt have a territory for me yet but she would get in touch. She also forgot to give me my area number and my account number wont work. she asked if i had access to a car for the round and i said no i would be walking. No problem she said.
anyway after 2 days of waiting for a territory she sent me it via email. I have been given 1 house to canvass in a road that will take me 30 minutes to walk to. I have been given a block of flats which have a buzzer system to get in to (the residents do not like buzzing people in and even the postman had to ask for a key in the end!) and another road (odd numbers only) which will take me nearly 45 minutes to walk to! unbelievable!!
I emailed back and asked for somewhere closer to home and have not heard a dickie bird!
So, I spent the morning on friday knocking on all the doors down my road asking if they would like Avon. I have 4 orders so far, 5 who havent ordered but want to see the books and 12 books still out. My orders so far total £45. Am slightly disappointed to say the least.

Gosh looking though all this i recon two new threads should be started - one for hints and tips and another for questions, chat etc. I find this very hard to look though!

You know what you should maybe do? - apart from phoning the Avon officesand complaining about your sales leader, that is - go round all your local hairdresser's, beauty salons, etc; I phoned round first to save a long walk; and see if you can leave brochures there. I get big orders from the one I go to regularly (not extending my customers currently as I don't have the time - travelling between towns to help nurse my mum who's in the last stages of cancer, with a three year-old, an 15 month-old, and I am 5 months pregnant! Phew!) Also, don't be disappointed by your first order - mine was about thirty quid! Now up to as much as £183. Just go back two or three times to show them you are reliable. I think some reps aren't, possibly through no fault of their own (like me at the moment) and put potential customers off.

I agree with the idea of splitting this thread into hints/tips and discussion - I don't have time to trawl through all the questions etc and keep going to 'last page' in the hope I'll find something useful :D
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

Thanks for the above Paula - I'd never have thought of phoning ahead, but that's such a good idea. When I've popped into businesses they look at me like I have three heads lol. At least if I do it over the phone it annoys me less even if they're not interested and at least I don't waste my time traipsing around with the books! Sorry you're having such a hard time of it...I'm so amazed you're still getting on with it all! I really hope things improve and wish your Mum well.

I too think it would be useful to split this thread. Of all the sites I've found this has been the mosyt consistently useful.

On another point, has anyone placed an order while still having an outstanding balance? And if so, did it come? On my round I'm having more than a bit of trouble getting people to cough up and I've been back to one customer a record 6 times! She keeps insisting she wants her order as well so I don't want to claim credit for it, but if she orders again I will tell her it's cash on delivery or it goes back. the crux of it is I have 4 orders I've not been paid for yet (don't worry I haven't parted with them!) and an outstanding balance of just over £90. I've called the call centre and asked them to please send my order which is due on Wednesday and I will either pay off the balance or claim credit by Friday, but they've said they can;t guarantee so I'm more than a bit worried about my customers not getting their orders. Usually I would just pay it off out of my own pocket but I've just had to fork out the car insurance and don't have it...not even a small amount of it. Any advice?

    Thanks

    Crystal

HeyI've just finished delivering all my orders for my first Campaign C11 and i got total orders of £301 i was really chuffed as not expecting that much.Ive decided this month i'm gonna add to my current customers and try the block of flats that are on one of the streets that i cover as i have not dropped to them before, was a bit wary as they are in a block and do not have their own front doors, has anyone had a problem with people getting funny about a stranger wandering around their building? dont want to get any grief!

Hi Crystal,Sorry your having trouble with people, i know this wont help much now but in the future never deliver and order without taking the cash, if you get there and they wont pay take the order back with you and re-arrange another day to deliver. if they keep messing you around then tell them you have no choice but to send the order back. but never leave an order with a customer without being paid x
