i cant see that being a problem, i've paid off mine a couple of times using my debit / credit card.
you can pay by debit when you log on, but if you give them a ring you can pay by debit card. should be fine :) xxxx

    Hi all,

Thanks for some really great suggestions since I last had a chance to check in - been reading about the samples with interest!

Elle - Sorry to hear about your AMs...you deserve better love. You're putting some really good groundwork in! Maybe once things settle down again after all the new interest because of the ads your AM might turn out to be OK (if you ever get to meet her that is...) I reckon you're going to do well out of this from what you've been saying :D
I included a welcome note with my first round already thanks. I set up an email address and included my phone number etc. Included a bit about "I'm happy to help in any way I can etc" too. I also put a card through the doors of those who ordered with a sample attached to the back to thank people and leave a reminder of the delivery date. Hoped it might get me a bit of loyalty ;)
This is a fab idea! I think I will nick it if that's OK?

I have ordered the Foot Soak for 75p from HT for every customer that's ordered this time to thank them for ordering. I will do samples in future but I thought it was a nice way to welcome customers on board as their old rep wasn't too good either!

My orders came to just over £200 in the end, but I have a feeling the next campaign will be good :D

Some pretty dire news though...I got my leg bitten pretty badly by a prospective customer's dog when I was canvassing! I opted for jeans rather than 3/4 length pants and it was bloody good job as it broke the skin even through my jeans! Spent 4 hours in A and E getting a flippin tetanus and I had to go the Drs for antibiotics the next day as it ballooned overnight. So truly, don't forget to beware of the dog lol

Hope the rest of your canvassing has been peril-free!

Ooh I am glad to be back on MSE, my laptop died and i've had to get my old computer back off my dad!!

I've caught up on all the messages and there's some great ideas on here. I do tend to agree with the people that said put the books in the bag, I got 100 books for £3 off ebay and they look really good, in a way I think it looks more professional.

I finally managed to canvass my other three streets this campaign and my orders are £422 which I am very happy with as they started very slow and I was convinced I wouldn't get a lot. I signed my OH up as a rep too so I had to put £78 on his account.

With regards to samples, I put a few samples in each order on my first order and to be honest I don't think it made people order. And on campaign 9 I gave every customer a pro to go sample stuck to a really cool (if i do say so myself :rotfl:) postcard I got from vistaprint and I only got 3 orders for it....

So I am going to leave samples for a little while. I am going to order a postcard from vistaprint highlighting the avon guarantee and that they can ask me for samples if they want, this might encourage people to buy something they like the look of but don't want to get stuck with it if they don't like it.

I now have 6 reps in my team, woohoo! I am determined to get another 4 by the end of campaign 10 which is very ambitious when i've just become a sales leader but I want to qualify for the seeds for success incentive.

Anyway I will stop waffling on now....:rotfl:

Hi Crystal, I thought I'd just mini-quote you to save pixels lol.

Course you can nick my samples idea - that's the point of this thread ;)

I think the foot soak idea is a really good one too - we obviously thought along the same lines! I hope it'll get us both off to a good start with our customers.

Just over £200 is brilliant going! I've got about £160 I think. Anything over the second commision level has to be good for newbies doesn't it? As my AM still hasn't returned my call from Thursday morning, I think on Monday I will just go ahead and canvass the street next to mine and hope for the best. I don't think anyone covers it at present as it's isolated on the end of my existing territory (besides the mystery other rep probably LOL). I'd rather get permission first but I've got a whole box of brochure 9 sat here, there's only 21 houses in the street, it's 30 seconds from where I live and there's five days to go until ordering. I could be missing out on £20 for all I know by not doing it.

Can't believe you got bitten by a dog. What bad luck to get bitten on your first campaign! Most postmen go at least five years lol. Is it better now? What did the customer do too?! I think you're pretty brave to take it in your stride and not be put off - I'd have quit!

    Hi Elle

You seem to be doing good with your orders, well done hun :) I'm on my third campaign and I love it, it's very addictive!!

Please don't take this the wrong way, but if I were you I wouldn't canvass that road without speaking to your ASM, if they're not getting back to you then ring Avon direct and tell them.

The only reason I don't think you should canvass the road is you don't know for definite that road doesn't belong to another rep and also what if another rep decided to canvass that road at the same time, the customers wouldn't be happy.

I do think territory allocation is there for a reason and I think it should respected or it would just be chaos.

Anyway it's up to you at the end of the day but this just my opinion.

im a bit worried, the SL that came to set me up didnt mention anything about a territory. i live in a city centre complex ( a gated communtiy of a few hundred apartments) but its got an estate next door that im hoping to canvass. should she have told me specific streets etc? ive never noticed any reps or books on doorsteps.

i actually think my SL is a bit rubbish......she didnt even have enough books to start me off properly. feel a bit hard done by!

I can see both sides of the coin with this one, but maybe play devils advocate, pop round, not withe the books, but with a calling card, saying your starting Avon, and if they dont have a Avon rep would they be interested in looking at the next campaign, that way if there is already a rep you havent trod on anyones feet by giving out any brocheres, if there isnt ok, yes you may of lost a couple of potential orders, but at least you have of done the groundwork and found out.

    Hi Pickle :)

Did you mention to the SL that you wanted to do territory? She might have thought you just wanted to do friends and family? I'd ring her and tell her you want to do territory then she can get in touch with the area manager to get some allocated to you.

no because i didnt know i had to... haha its not really made too clear how it works when you enquire to start. she knows i wanted to do all the flats within my complex and i did mention the surrounding streets and she didnt say i couldnt! think ill just take mum2ones advice and pop round to enquire.

fingers crossed noone else is already doing those streets!

    thanks
