If, say, the old threads are gone forever, I'm sure the useful content can be built back up very quickly. I'm pretty sure that Google etc cache copies of websites.Happy chappy0

if the hosting company are running incremental backups and you can restore from June why not previous to June?
the first incremental backup run in june would have to do a backup of all files modified since the last backup - ie everything as all files were changed since the last backup (none). From then on all files, the database, would be modified and backed up.
did the hosting company just bin the first backup or just not bother restoring it?0 -
I've been on the receiving end of having to explain to users that the backups have failed and it's not a fun position to be in. I'm also a bit confused by whats happened, were they intending to run an incremental forever schema or did the hosting company think that full backups were being taken and then realised they weren't? I guess the moral of the story is to trust no one and as a previous poster has said is to have regular recovery\DR tests.
