Just spoken to a guy at Natwest, on a freephone number
who told me to fill in the transfer forms, post date them to the 6th April, return them to Natwest and they do the rest.
Hope it all goes as smoothly as it soundsLive long and prosper0 -
Another question re: the Natwest eISA. My Skipton ISA is maturing at midnight on the 5th April and I've just received a letter offering me a couple of options with them, the best of which is 3.15% so, I am planning on opening the Natwest eISA which will be especially good as I already have a current account with them, however, if I open the account with the Natwest now in preparation for transferring the £3600 from the Skipton surely I'd be breaking the rules by exceeding my annual allowance as I'll need to deposit £1 in the Natwest eISA?
You would only break the rules if you subscribed (i.e. actually paid new cash) into two ISAs in the same tax year. Transferring your existing ISA from Skipton doesn't count as subscribing to an ISA.
If you don't pay new money into the ISA account, it doesn't count as one you've subscribed to, regardless of what is said during the application process.0 -

Britannia have offered me 3.1% fixed for one or two years on existing ISA account for year 2009/2010. I can also invest a further 3,600 at the same time.
Would I be better going for one or two years? Any thoughts?0 -
