Their current Easy Access Issue 29 is 2.00% AER  - not sure what date this was effective from.
Does anyone know if this is the EA rate from Charter as upgraded post BofE increase?  Or expect more to perhaps come?  Although a customer, I've not been keeping track.
(I know that their Fixed accounts have increased a fair bit since the BofE)
    Thanks
@grouchy I’ve seen some posts on the forum that some Charter EA accounts are increasing to 2.75% from 18th November, but there was no certainty on which issues it was

If Aldermore nudged their 1 year fixes a little higher, I would consider opening an Easy Access at 2.75% and a 1 year fixed to keep it all in the same place.

    Decisions decisions...
For me, Aldermore are a pain in the !!!!!!. I tried to open an account with them last year, by the time they got round to opening it their rate had been surpassed and I never went through with it. I suspect it will be the same this time round as I've just tried again and despite living in the same house for over 20 years and having the same current account for 18 months, they say that's not enough and want me to post them proof of this, that and the other. I can't be bothered.
I just tried opening an easy access with Aldermore… and they want certified copies of two forms of ID. Not only is that absurd, but I only had an account with them as recently as June this year (for which they asked for no ID!). Ridiculous.

The Post Office provides a document certification service for £12.75 (1-3 documents):
    www.postoffice.co.uk/identity/document-certification

... but are there placess where documents can be certified free of charge?

Anyone on this list courtesy of gov.uk can verify a passport:

    Who can certify a document

Your document must be certified by a professional person or someone well-respected in your community (‘of good standing’). You could ask the following if they offer this service:

    • bank or building society official
    • councillor
    • minister of religion
    • dentist
    • chartered accountant
    • solicitor or notary
    • teacher or lecturer

The person you ask should not be:

    • related to you
    • living at the same address
    • in a relationship with you
If you know anyone on that list you should be able to get it done for free.

Same experience. Similar with Skipton a few weeks ago. I'm not bothering with all that for a savings account that may give a slightly higher rate for a few weeks.
  • Certified documents is very much not the norm.  Must be something buggy with the online identification system.

They didn’t from me. But, then again, neither did Aldermore last time.

I have neither a passport nor driving licence, my disabilities rendering both pointless. And while they allow for certification of other documents that I do have they are asking that:

    a) I get them copied;
    b) I get those copies certified by a qualified person; and
    c) I get those posted.

    That’s a lot to ask.

None of it is necessary in our banking system, and to request any of it is frankly nonsensical and not a little ableist.

Aldermore want a copy of my bank statement because they can't verify my nominated account!
