I jumped on my existing Santander online account as soon as I saw the 2.75% esaver mentioned on here. A quick online application from my account and it was done in a few minutes. Threw some money I had access to in there to fund it whilst I wait for a 31 day Zopa pot to mature.
Quick question, I have a regular esaver which I was of course putting the £200 a month in and there's £800 in there. I've dropped the SO down but should I leave that I there or move that to the esaver as well?
AIUI * the Santander Reg eSaver (£200pm) doesn't have a minimum monthly deposit, or the requirement to keep a SO going. So presumably one can cancel the SO and move the whole balance across to the eSaver.
*happy to be corrected if i've got that wrong, as that's on my list of jobs for tomorrow (already opened the eSaver!)How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -

I applied for the account via the Santander mobile app. Ended up with a reference number and "We'll complete some final checks before we open your account. These can take up to 3 working days, but are usually done within a couple of hours. We'll let you know when your account has been opened."0

Yeah that's my understanding. There is this mentioned in the summary:
If you don’t fund the account from your Santander current account or if you deposit more than £200 in any month, Santander reserve the right to change your account into an Everyday Saver.
But by 'fund' do they mean regularly or just initially which of course has already been done. Also, if I withdrew all bar £1 or something, I assume you'd still get what interest you had earned so far at the end of the year, although of course that's next to nothing anyway so probably not worth worrying about.0 -

Will I need a current account with them? Guess their everyday current account would be fine?Just set up a new payee. (Your donor account)
OK, So not used Santander since 2017. Tried Payments and Transfers, set up a new payment and I get this:
Also set up now on mobile banking. Tried adding a payee there and while I could get to enter sort code and bank account, the button to continue was greyed out. May leave it overnight to see if things reset.Mortgage and debt free. Building up savings...0 -
Do Santander have a cut off time for deposits to earn interest on that day?
4pm? 10pm? etc. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)1
