I see Charter are doing 2.25% instant access, minimum £5,000. Will need to move my ZOPA money across, have to commit to a 3 month notice period to get the same rate.
I'm giving zopa until Wednesday to increase rates. If not, I'm off.
My 95 day pots mature tomorrow, so my money will be on the move to my YBS at 2.50%

Question; if you move money on the weekend to a savings account where the money won't show in your account until the Monday, does the interest earned get 'backdated' to the weekend day when the transfer was initiated, or does it only begin once it appears in the new account on the Monday?
It depends on when the savings provider credits the money. You can see that date in your transaction list, and you can ask the provider what their practice is. Or m ay be someone knows if you mention your provider. For example, Charter Bank would not credit a deposit you make today until tomorrow. NS&I would credit it today. In any event, though, one or two days interest will not be a lot at present rates

This is hardly going to affect much apart from the back end of the Top 12, but Investec Online Flexi Saver is now at 1.95% AER for balances of £5k or more. (Less than £5k = 0%)

    unlimited withdrawals.

    Hi,
For the Kent Reliance instant/easy access accounts, if I make a deposit via faster payments on a weekend does it clear on the weekend too? I find if I make a payment at like 00:01 on Monday, it is in my account by approx 9am Monday, and the same happens every Monday-Friday I’ve tried it, but I am wondering if this just applies to working days. For example if I made a transfer at 00:01 on Saturday, would it appear by approx 9am Saturday, or approx 9am Monday please?
Just wondering about other people’s experiences with this really.
    Thank you

  • I find that Kent Reliance don't action any payments on the weekends, as they have cut off times. So if I have a payment by SO going in or a faster payment which has been made on Friday after the cut off, it won't go in until Monday, I get a text at 9am saying your deposit has been received. So anything done over the weekend won't happen until a working day.

    Wait for Monday?

If they still don't ring then maybe ring them on the Tuesday on their 'contact us' telephone number 0800 4086 407.
