I called to check if £1 was all right and Al Ryan said no problem.
Shawbook and Gatehouse were fine with it.
Not found any account that won’t let you do it in the last 2 years.

When closing Tesco Internet Savers using the online form, with the balance at £0 then any interest due will go to your nominated account. Your nominated account is the account you picked when you originally opened the Internet Saver.4

"Min Opening Amount £5,000"
so will they still let me pay in an initial £1 for me to test it arrives safely before I top up to £5000+? I don't mind if they pay me no EPR until the balance reaches £5000.Another question about Moneyfacts, for this account (and many others), in the View Further Details they say:
Early Access Allowed x
What do they mean by x, is that a negative, eg can I not make a withdrawal before a particular time in the day, or can I not make a withdrawal until the account has been open and funded for a minimum period of time, or what?0 -

They use the same format for all types of account. It should really be shown as n/a (not applicable).1 -

Re Al Rayan, I'm aware that the minimum opening balance is £5K (with the exception of test £1), but I can't find what they say re minimum operating balance (unless there isn't one, and you just don't receive interest until £5K)?0

I was wondering the same re Al Rayan. I don't think there is a minimum operating balance but their T&Cs don't say one way or another. From what I've seen on other threads my impression is that you get the interest whatever the balance.
If you do ring them, let us know what they say.0
