Have to agree with the negative comments on Sainsbury's bank. Call Centre particularly painful to deal with and website not the best. I got our money out eventually and won't be going back - high rate notwithstanding.

Not really Easy Access but might be of interest - Investec 90 day at 2.1%

Maybe a place to put money whilst seeing what rate rises come?

can someone please confirm that it's Charter that don't update their rates on existing issues, so you would need to open a new issue to get the newer rate? From reading this thread, I recall there is a bank that does this begins with C, but can't remember if it's Charter, Cynergy or someone else - I don't have existing accounts with either to know from first hand experience.

FWIW, I have had two EA accounts with them, and two FRBs - everything worked smoothly, no problems whatsoever (inc. a bond that matured last Friday, with the money arriving back in my NA on Monday, as per my instruction).

Yes, they have new issues; from memory, when I had an EA last year, and they offered a new issue, I opened the new one, then transferred everything from the old one, at which point you are given an option to close the account, and the total sum, inc. any outstanding interest, transfers into the new account.

Yorkshire BS has launched Internet Saver Plus (issue 12) which currently pays the same interest rate as the previous issue: 1.60% (on £50K+), 1.55% (£10K+) and 1.25% (£1 - £9,999).

With Cynergy you need to keep opening the latest issue (very easily done) and transfer monies from old account.   

I believe from recollection that Charter do update the rates on existing accounts (although whether always to the same rates as new issues I'm not sure)
