The Atom Bank Instant Saver interest rate has been increased to 1.35% (17/06/2022):

Oh good. My savings are split between Virgin and Atom, so that's good news for me. I can't imagine it will still be the 3rd highest rate come another couple of weeks but unless we see someone top 1.5% I don't think I'll bother moving away from them. They have been perfect so far.

Chase probably anticipated these rises and got in first with 1.5%, and by the looks of it, if you`ve got a phone that takes the app, have managed to get a lot of customers while the others are now playing catch-up.

... the growing disenchantment with Chase (articulated in various places in this forum)...
    Chase is a fantastic product.

What other high interest savings account allows you to set up Direct Debits and Standing Orders and allows you to schedule multiple future dated Faster Payments that pay out even on Sundays and Bank Holidays?

What other bank offers 1pc cash back on debit card spending, including on foreign transactions at perfect exchange rates?

What other bank issues a debit card with no numbers printed on it and the ability to fine tune the functionality of the security features to suit your personal needs?

Chase have come up with a loss leading rate of interest to bring in new customers.  Most of them are interest rate tarts who will move on as soon as the rate is no longer chart topping, but many of us can see what a great product Chase has created, and will stay with them for the long term.

I will be using Chase as my primary payment method when I'm in the US next month.  Goodbye Monzo, Revolut, and Curve.  There's a new kid on the block.  And he's streets ahead of the competition.
What other bank asks you to pre-authorise every single online debit card transaction even ones you have already authorised?

What other bank delays outward payments for two days or more for a supposed security check?

What other bank declines debit card transactions due to "technical issues"?

I closed my Chase account as I have very little confidence in their IT.

Indeed it is - in fact that EA rate is a 0.50% (!) and 0.15% for the DA increase according to my records.
ETA and has been applied to my existing accounts.
  • Is Virgin's 1.55% saver rate still one of the best around?
I guess it's unlikely that they will increase this in the next few weeks?

I'm sure every bank has dissatisfied customers and gets things wrong sometimes, but so far I've not had any of the problems that you have experienced.

I think EA was 1.1% before?
