There are no guarantees, but all apps are subject to approval before being available to download. The publisher, rating and download count are available. It would be very difficult to make a convincing fake, and if 100k other users had previously been fooled, it probably would be quite a big story already.

I prefer to click the links on the savings pages of Money Saving Expert for peace of mind.

But notice accounts are fundamentally a different proposition from genuinely easy access accounts, so there's little value in working out the notional position of a pear within a list of apples!

Yeah, I forgot this thread was Easy access only rather than notice as well.
Surprisingly there doesn't seem to be an active thread on best notice accounts.

With interest rates heading upwards, notice accounts are probably much less popular.

they have FSCS protection and the 2nd best rate. I would call that good.

I've never had any problem with them. As above, I'm also a pragmatist - a top rate and FSCS protected = 'great!'.

As an existing Gatehouse user I have just logged in and opened the easy access saver and transferred the minimum deposit of £1000. Says will take around 6 hours for the account to show. Deposit went by Faster Payments but not sure how quickly it will appear - today or tomorrow. Will do a test withdrawal to see how quick it is. Will keep my cash flow amount in Marcus as they have speedy withdrawals to link account.

As for how good Gatehouse are - I have a 5 year ISA with them and they were very good and speedy in setting it up. They also answered questions I had on the phone well and speedily. On the ISA the profit is paid to my nominated account. I assume this will happen on the Easy Access acct but I'm not sure
