    Someone complained on the regular saver site about me posting that Chase was paying out interest tomorrow Sunday 1st May. I thought it was useful as most posters would not expect interest to be paid until Tuesday 3rd May. Those posters who have put £85,000 in the account will probably want to skim the interest out. Sorry if some did not find helpful

    I posted that and withdrew it immediately because I did not feel I should have mentioned it, as it was posted in the spirit of helpfulness As you say, it may not be trivial to those relying on a monthly income payday. I have just become oversensitized through what I perceive to be so much chatter about items I personally perceive to be off topic.

    The problem on these two threads of the nattering and worrying about off topic issues such as opened accounts not showing immediately in online banking is that it devalues the usefulness of the thread in terms of the purpose for which it was originally created. It's returning to the days when an impending Virgin regular saver maturity event rendered the entire thread noisy and of minimal usefulness for those who simply want to hear about the best easy access or regular saver accounts.

    All this is made worse by the backwards step in the forum software which stopped emailing comments in their entirety, meaning emails can no longer be quickly skimmed for useful content.
    Skip this if your interest is solely easy access.
    IMO The some of the problem lies with the TITLE of this thread which is "The top easy access savings discussions area".

    The link in a main article entitled "Top Savings Accounts" "Have your say in our Forum" brings you here and that article covers all types of savings accounts and anything related to savings including touching on; I believe; mortgages and current accounts.
    A person; having read the article and clicked on that link within it; may well find it ligament; as I do; to post here about those subjects and indeed anything related to savings in general.
    However some regulars to this forum thread might rather see it limited to EASY ACCESS savings with other threads for other types but that is no me because I am happy to put up with off topic postings here as a number of them have been of interest and thus useful to me. ie I enjoy the "nattering" as long as it relates to investing in a cash savings products.

    You can argue whether this thread should be about more than easy access savings (I personally don't think it should be, and it generally isn't) but it certainly should not be about investing. This forum makes a clear distinction between saving and investing, as the two subjects are vastly different.

    Yes, I agree the word investing; on its own; is too generalized. I should have said "investing in a cash savings product". I will go back and edit it so.

    Just to be a devils advocate and point out that taking a word out of context may give it a different meaning and lead to the noise you may want to avoid.
    So the title also has the word "Top" in it and if you want to be a purist about words you would object to anyone mentioning anything other than the top account here.
    Sorry guys. I obviously have too much time on my hands. But I'm not the only one.

    "investing in a cash savings product" is a bit of an oxymoron. You either put your money into an investment product (=investing) or you put your money into a savings product (=saving). There are several differences between investment products and savings products; the main one probably the very different levels of risk you take.

    @soulsaver

    The Ford Money Flexible Saver account was increased to 1.00% gross (from 0.85%) on 27th April.

    There was a post on this somewhere on MSE and account holders were emailed.
