@Rg2625 I guess “formal or email” were the important words .. I can read t&cs myself on whether there is a requirement ..
    Okay. Fair point.

You seem to find it "very strange" [sic] that you haven't received an email even though the T&Cs tell you that you might  not get any personal notification before the increase happens. So what is your question?

Has anybody received formal or email notification from VM regarding the rate change yet .. very strange given it starts on Tuesday?

Marcus still silent on any increase rate - maybe they will wait to see the size of outflow as other institutions increase rates ..
Formal ? But yes, via secure message after requesting confirmation.

Think there's going to be a lot of £25Ks moving their way on Tuesday  :)
  • Tuesday is 1st March. I always do a lot of manual moving of funds on the first of the month (eg feeding Regular savers which don't get fed by SO because the monthly feed varies according to circumstances). So I don't think I will have the time or inclination on Tuesday to move £25K to Virgin M Plus Saver. I will probably make the move once the dust settles on the start of the month manoeuvres, maybe Friday of next week.

In my case, I won't have the money to do that ! :D

How much time does it take?

I have money sitting in a Skipton Tracker Isa at 0.85% and I have already set up the transfer for Tuesday.  It will happen in the early hours while I'm sleeping.

    Virgin login

The app isn't playing ball with me again this morning.

I hope it's not gone back to access issues, for those of us with,.large numbers of, multiple accounts.

Hence the 1% offering really does need to be tempered with the potential (and it is just that as I'll try to login later today) that access is flakey and so some may have the inability nto access funds.

Just used my android app, multiple accounts, and all working.
I have large numbers of standing orders for the 1st of the month so will use the savings account(s) to refill the current accounts to £1,000. This will avoid the need to pay any external accounts unless I absolutely need.
  • In an article in today’s Financial Mail on Sunday, they asked the four big banks (Barclays, Lloyds, HSBC & NatWest) about increasing their interest paid on savings accounts. Only HSBC has confirmed interest rates will be going up from 1st March 2022, with a 10-fold increase on the Flexible Saver from 0.01% to 0.10% for example :o;)

I'll update the forum when it arrives, so other people will have an idea how long it takes.

Section62, has your security token arrived yet?  I was told it'd take around 3 to 5 days, but I've had nothing yet.
