I have one of these but Tesco can be patchy about rate rises, the recent one notwithstanding. A few years ago when rates dropped 0.25% they lowered theirs by 0.35%. When they rose by 0.25% they only raised theirs by 0.15%. But I live in hope
Well, as Tesco keeps telling us: "Every little helps" 😊

  • Cynergy hs released a new easy access savings account with an interest rate of 0.71%. They've not bothered raising the base rate of my existing easy access aaccount (0.7%).

Thankfully it's fairly painless to open up a new one when you're logged on and do an internal transfer. Just a faff to edit payees from your current account side, for paying in.

Still, look on the bright side, you'll be earning all that extra 0.01% interest!

Don't forget that this is a 0.3% AER account with a 0.41% AER bonus rate for 12 months

I was just checking out their website following Malchester's post. It was looking quite interesting until I saw that if the balance falls below £5k it earns 0% interest.

I then came back here and saw your post.

and 0% on anything up to £5,000. Not sure why you would want to ignore this fact.

As long as you have £5000 in the account interest is paid on the whole amount. So it is wrong to say 'and 0% on anything up to £5000'
