Glad to learn from this thread that Paypal qualifies as a DD! I can see it listed under my DDs in my 1-2-3 account. So if I only purchase say 4 or 5 items on Ebay per annum and always pay with Paypal, that will keep me covered?
No need to buy anything. Or ever use the Paypal DD.

    Just set it up.

Could be wrong here but I'm almost sure that a DD mandate will lapse if unused for around 13 months?

Not all banks seem to delete unused ones after 13 months, but it's prudent to assume they will if you need the DDs to meet T&Cs.

Hi can I just ask, if I don't want to move my current account but use this just as a savings account, what kind of direct debits can I set up?

I understand one could be to paypal, which I don't really need to use. Any others please where the outgoing is minimal?

Could a direct debit to pay a credit card be another?

The reason why I ask if I do have to ever close this account it won't be a major headache moving important direct debits.

    Thank you in advance...

    H

    Ps my first post..so hey!

Pay a monthly account fee of £2, fund the account with £500 a month (a minimum balance of £1,000 is required to receive interest); and set up a minimum of two Direct Debits. For cashback household bills must be paid by Direct Debit.

Welcome Harveys ;-) Just suggestions for you, take out a magazine subscription and pay via DD or send a couple quid per month via DD to a charity?

Presumably if your balance drops under £1000 the funding 500 is not needed anymore. You still receive the cashback on DD's?

Don't think you get any cashback if you don't pay in at least £500 a month. And you need at least 2 DDs. No cashback if there's only one
