I have received notification from Tesco Savings that they have renewed by fixed bonus for another 12 bonus on my Internet Savings Account. They are giving me 0.45%, when added to their Standard Rate (variable) 1.25% is a massive 1.7%. Let joy abound ! :j

Where is the best place to put 10k (Instant access as I will open another account as a regular saver).
I'm with HSBC if that matters.0 -
You got an ISA? You checked the links above? Recent posts in this thread? On the rest of the board?0

There aren't any easy access online accounts at better than 2.40% gross AER at the moment are there? It's what my VirginMoney "dumping account" is going down to, from 2.85%.
I use it to place what I can save month after month to then put it in a new ISA, and would like to use it as a dripfeeder for a FD account if I finally manage to open one. I like to keep it instant access because it has no limit of how much I can put in monthly and if a really good deal comes along I can be flexible as to how many of the savings I move, but essentially it is holding all my savings that aren't in ISAs or the Santander First Home Saver (really good regular saver).Saving £10,000 in 2013: £4491.48/£10,0000 -
Yes there are - but you need to think slightly outside the box and look at current accounts. Lloyds and BoS Vantage, Santander 123. They give you room for up to £50K at currently 3% AER. There are some pre-reqs but they aren't too hard to meet if you have savings. Look for separate threads on the subject.0

Anybody else having problems with Santander e-saver account?
Suddenly when I transfer money to my bank through Faster Payments, they are going through security "for my protection" as the computer has noticed some unusual movements on my account. This takes up to 16 hours to clear. Considering this is where I transfer money in / out from, I really cannot see what is 'unusual', but despite protracted correspondence and telephone conversations I cannot do anything. All I am told is there is "nothing I can do".Thank you for reading this message.0 -
Santander have occasional fits of "extra checks for your own protection". These are bloody annoying, especially if they happen on Friday nights and the protection squad doesn't fire on all cylinders until Monday again.
However, under the Faster Payment regulations, as long as the money arrives in the target account by end of next working day, we have no complaints that anyone would take serious. So let's just remember that, as recent as 18 months ago, it used to take 3-4 working days for money to arrive the other end. Oh, and that these extra checks are really good for us, honest.....0
