You do know that FD was founded by Midland and is now owned by HSBC (who acquired Midland), right?0 -

FD are fine as long as you don't plan on using their internet banking which is awful!0

Wouldn't call it awful - it's just about a decade behind the times, very basic in look and feel and functionality. You can still pay one-off or regular bills and transfer money to other accounts.
Mind you, may be the ancient website is one of the reasons why so many people seem to need to ring them so often.0 -

I have no problem with internet banking. I set up bills, pay bills. Move money from one account to another. It is very rarely that I need to ring them.Thank you for reading this message.0 -

Yes fine for this. However, if you want to do a basic transaction search, delete an old payee that you don't use anymore online or make an online payment to someone abroad you can't! These are all pretty basic things that you can do with most other online banks.0 -

Do you know if it is a new account, or have they reduced the bonus?
I rang them the other day and check the rates of interest. I have three accounts, for different funds. The girl on the phone got quite stroppy and said under the rules and regs I should only have one account. She said she would have to report it to her manager. I said had I not rung to enquire about the rates everything would be okay and nobody bothered. Ms Jobsworth then said about the rules and regs again. I rang off, but have heard nothing.Thank you for reading this message.0 -

I'd also be interested if they have reduced the bonus as I have just opened an account myself last month, but not started transferring money into it yet.0
