I currently have a Santander issue 3 and am interested in Issue 4 as the bonus rate is due to end sometime this month.
I don't see anywhere on whether Issue 4 is available for existing customers? Also do I need to do a transfer form even within the same bank?0 -

What is the likelyhood of the variable bonus on the Santander Issue 4 account being reduced during the 12mth period?
My wife is looking to move £32,000 from her NatWest e-Saver because the bonus ends on the 14th and it will revert to a miserly 1%. There is no sign of NatWest launching a new with-bonus e-Saver which existing customers can use. I was offered one at 3.12% but it's no good to me as I'm a taxpayer and my wife isn't.0 -

She could move it to this new Close Brothers offering - 3.40% for a 1 year bond. See here:

Does santander issue 4 esaver account have faster payments? If so where do I find information on limits to amount. Thanks0

Thanks for the info. She needs an instant access account because she already has large amounts of cash tied up in fixed-term/fixed-rate accounts such as ISA's and bonds. Although £32,000 may seem a large amount to keep in a 'working account', it isn't when you factor in the £6,000+ for the Alaskan cruise in September and circa £14,000 for a new car in a few months!0 -

Please find the following on their web site I have tested their faster payments back and forth from HSBC and it worked. They send you a security code to your mobile for first transaction to a new payee. It states that the payment will reach payee by the end of next working day but mine was switched instantly at both ends.
Faster Payments
The Faster Payments Scheme is a free and secure service to transfer money up to and including £100,000 between accounts.
Santander provides the benefit of Faster Payments for customers making payments from their banking or savings accounts.- Your money will usually reach the destination account in a matter of hours
- Faster Payments can be made 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through online banking or the automated telephone service
- You can also make payments at the branch or with an adviser over the telephone during opening hours
- Faster Payments can be sent immediately or set up for the future.
You don't need to do anything to benefit from Faster Payments just continue making payments as normal.
Payments that you make through the branch, telephone or internet are usually automatically sent by Faster Payments, making managing your money a lot simpler and faster."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0 - Your money will usually reach the destination account in a matter of hours

I was in the same position and tried to open an Esaver Issue 4 to move my savings from the Esaver Issue 3 but it kept on asking for card details to enable the application to proceed but I don't have a card for my esaver. I contacted their customer services to complain. They opened one for me after nearly half an hour of spiel which I already knew. I asked for compensation for the phone call as the 0845 is expensive if you do not have BT. They paid £10 compensation into my account as I should have been able to open online. I have moved my savings to the Esaver 4 as it pays 3.10% whereas the Esaver 3 pays 3.00%. Buttons I know but I believe in look after your pennies and the pounds look after themselves."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0 -
I just found (by accident on the website) that Halifax offer a "Reward Saver" for current account customers paying in at least £1k per month. The "Reward Saver" is instant access and is paying 2.50% if you make less than 4 withdrawals in 12 months (or reduces to 2.25% if you make 5 or more).
If you're like me and have a Reward Current account just to get the free £5 per month (I just transfer £1k in and most of it straight out once per month) and also have a little in a savings account, it's worth swapping it over to this Reward Saver - really straightforward using online banking, I think it was no more than 3 mouse clicks to open and transfer the money but gives me 2% more interest.0 -

Use www.saynoto0870.com. I haven't dialled an 0845/0870 to anyone for years.
Santander CS is pretty poor - they make a lot of c*ck-ups. But they are very good about ex gratia payments when you complain.
They even once oferred me £40, then when I rang and asked where it was 3 weeks later they said "Oh sorry - we forgot. Can we give you £80 instead?"0
