Ever since Tandem sent an email about changing the notification period for rate changes, I was expecting a drop. I will probably keep mine open for now as my other EA with better rates aren't instant access so Tandem has been useful for putting salary in for a few days until bills are due to come out.0

Thanks for the heads up.Bridlington1 said:Although not one of the top EA accounts at the moment, Principality will be launching an Online Bonus Double Access account at 5% (includes a 0.15% bonus for a year), replacing their Online Double Access Issue 2 at 4.85%. It could possibly be one to open speculatively just on the off chance it becomes competitive.Although if T&Cs same as current version, rate is variable, so no guarantees it would remain competitive.3

PrincipalityIf you're looking as I did to transfer over from an existing account: open the new account, then go to Account services > Close an account > select the account you want to close, you will then get the option to transfer to the new account as you close the previous account. You don't have to withdraw from your old account to your "linked account" and then pay it back into the new account, as I initially suspected.
I no longer check the forums as regularly as I used to. If you wish to catch my attention please remember to tag me (@ircE) so I get a notification.4

Just did a live chat with them and this was their response:ToastLady said:
That's a bit sneaky. I had an email from them on 2nd Feb saying my top up will expire on 3rd March and to renew it. I haven't bothered as there's only £1 in the account, am getting better rates elsewhere.13zero8 said:10am this morning Tandem sends me a 30 day notification of top up rate decrease by 0.10 % as of 6th March.... 10 past midnight on 6th Feb Tandem thanks me for topping up my rate to the lower one that's supposed to start in March. Signing into app confirms rate has dropped.
Bye bye Tandem. We are aware of this and we are currently investigating this. Unfortunately, there is no information that I can provide as of yet. We kindly ask that you return later this afternoon/ tomorrow where we hope to have more information.

In addition if you send them a secure message you can ask them to distribute the final balance between multiple Principality accounts/your nominated account. I've done this a few times when closing regular savers whose rates had fallen behind.ircE said:PrincipalityIf you're looking as I did to transfer over from an existing account: open the new account, then go to Account services > Close an account > select the account you want to close, you will then get the option to transfer to the new account as you close the previous account. I've only got £1 in my tandem. I got my spending money in santander EA and the rest of my loot in 1/2/3 fixes.13zero8 said:

I've been using Nord VPN for years, and I find it the best. There is a good deal on at the moment.flaneurs_lobster said:
Can I ask which VPN you favour?charlie12525 said:
I've recently done a lot of online banking with a number of banks/ building socs from Thailand. If I had any problems logging in etc then I turned my vpn on and had no further problems.flaneurs_lobster said:
I'm going to be doing my next monthly funding of 20-odd RS accounts from somewhere south of Hanoi (at least, that's the plan). Be interesting if my location sets off any alarms.CuparLad said:
Absolutely it is, if the website can operate without the need to know where a customer is, but the App cannot. 22 other financial organisations don't have the need for this. As I say, I'll pass. It's a personal choice.Middle_of_the_Road said:
Is this really a negative attribute as far as security is concerned? I gave permission "only while using the app"CuparLad said:
It appears you also need to enable Location Services to even use the App to "prevent fraud". Since none of the other 22 banking apps I have need to track my exact location in order to work, I'll give this one a miss.friolento said:Wheres_My_Cashback said:
Very quick to install and set up on Android, one device only permitted.janusdesign said:
Coventry BS have finally launched their own app (mentioned in their members blog) - installed the android version, registered and it seems to work fine.
App not working if you use NordVPN

Ok 0.1% doesn’t make much difference but I bet tandem have had an influx of withdrawals .I have most of mine in Santander at 5.08% but even so 0.18% is better than nothing.0

I haven't got anything in Tandem but the account is still open, they still send me messages. I don't know why you need to leave £1 in the account.1

It's more common for an easy access account to have a minimum balance of £1 than £0 so leaving £1 in is just playing on the safe side and saves the hassle of having to look it up !Zopa_Trooper said:I haven't got anything in Tandem but the account is still open, they still send me messages.
