Re Leeds a/c. Tried many times on different browsers. Cannot open. Contacted them. "try again tomorrow" is best they can do (from IT dept)
  • I have RSI 95 day notice account paying 5.42% Monthly. But they have just announced the rate will drop to 4.84 monthly from end of April. So will give notice. But where to put it- who knows what rates will be in 3 months time.

I've got a couple of "high paying" notice accounts - so guess I will soon be getting that "notification" (Dudley 120 days 5.45% AER, and Chorley 200 days 5.65% AER) - at least given they are so "long" I then get that number of days +14 as the notice of any rate change.

Also notice Premium bonds are dropping their "rate" from March draw I believe - 4.65% to 4.4% -

Strange goings on - since it appears that the general feelings/vibes now are that base rate cuts in 2024 are "less likely" - unless I misread a story which popped up on my notifications.

The rates will be going down across the board. Put it into the best paying account in your current portfolio and/or open as many well paying accounts as you can to expand your options for the near future.

Do they have to give at least the notice period before they drop the rate?

I think usually they give 14 days + the notice period - though always check the t&c for the specifics of each... for example, my Dudley BS 90-Day (NLA) allows immediate access if/when they drop the rate.
