I thought tandem interest was meant to be paid yesterday. I can’t see anything as of today? Opened the account 9th august.
You should get it on 9th of September.  The interest is paid on the monthly anniversary of funding the account.
Tandem pay interest on the monthly anniversary of when the account was.opened, at least that's the case for me.
I think it is the monthly anniversary of account funding, rather than account opening.

I opened mine at the end of July but didn't start funding until the 7th August. No interest received yet and I'm expecting it tomorrow.

You can re-name each of the accounts to be something different and meaningful. I re-named one of mine "Current A/C - Closed" even 'though it wasn't officially closed.
I've only ever been able to rename and reorder on the website. If anyone knows how to do it in the app, tips would be appreciated.

Santander staff can't see your names for the accounts, which caused confusion on telephone banking.

Then, I opened a starling account, where the staff can only see your names, after a telephone conversation with them in a public place, I regretted some of my choices....
That function is only in the website, you can however if you don't want to see an old account in your app and online banking choose for it not to display by not putting an order number against the account.

I have 2 old savings accounts with nil balances that are hidden from view in the app as I haven't put an order in them in online banking

Just got confirmation of a 2nd Santander Easy Access a/c 5.2%. Not paid anything in yet. Forgotten why I did this as I wont be putting in > £250k into the first one. Brain fade. T&Cs say "only one"

Can Mansfield branch/post -only accounts have their balances viewed online, after they have been opened by post, even if not operated online?

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant, can I register for online banking after opening that account by post, and check my account balance online? I know I won't be able to make transactions online, but I just want to be able to view that my money is safe!

Soz. That dawned on me just after I posted, hence deleted post

Yes, just use the add account option when you login.

How good are Mansfield at verifying identity electronically? I'm tending to find the smaller societies like Hanley and Furness a bit of a chore when opening accounts.
  • There are more problems with Cahoot than just the time it takes to access your funds online. Withdrawals are seriously restricted and they have problems with their use of the Royal Mail addressing system. When raising issues with their staff, they make no attempt to investigate the problems but instead defend their antiquated processes. Possibly they've been trained by their Spanish masters - and Spanish banks really are appalling!

It's good that their partner, Santander, has now brought in a new savings account with a much better interest rate. And they're both under the same FSSC £85,000 protection!

I will avoid Cahoot in future.
