  • Would I be correct in thinking that Santander allows only £25000/day withdrawal?

You can set your own transfer limit - see Payments and transfers > Manage transfer limit.  The default iirc is £10k. Max is £25,000 per transfer to £100,000 per 24 hour period.  There's a good chance of having a large amount in a day triggering security though, especially if there was no CoP available.

Edit - setting is in "More" menu in app.

Ooh, thanks for that info. Hadn't studied all of the menu yet, and it still took a little while to spot that option.

Changed it from the £5k default. Yay.

Anyone ditching or moving some money from NBS tracker beware the money doesn`t reach your nominated account until the following working day after transaction.
Every single withdrawal I've made from my NBS tracker account has cleared into my nominated account the same working day. I was told by NBS to withdraw by 4pm for this to happen.

Yes, me too, although like many others I have virtually emptied the account as what started off as an unbeatable rate now lags way behind.

The new issue of Coventry Limited may not be the highest paying today but If you have a previous issue and were considering using up one of the access this is an opportunity to transfer some or all to a new issue and reset to four access.
Also Coventry usually keep up with BoE rises. With the Issue 1 Santander account (Issue 3 is the one generating pages of comments at the moment) it took 2 months for others to catch up and was never really competitive again - it was 5 months before they increased the rate and then only twice more since. The next BoE is in a couple of weeks.

I have the issue 1, and also the recent issue 3. I don't see any benefit in closing the previous issue. I'm just leaving it at zero balance and unused. As i've never had any issues with outward transactions being blocked from the account, I will probably use it to make withdrawals to my nominated account, rather than from the new issue. Also it serves as a record of all previous activity through the account, which is easier than having to search individual c/a pdf statements.
One benefit of closing the Issue 1 is that the accrued interest is now earning 5.2% in the Issue 3 :-)
I’m closing mine to make sure I don’t select the wrong account when transferring from current account as they look similar on the face of it.
It took me less than a minute chatting with ‘Sandi’ to do it
You can re-name each of the accounts to be something different and meaningful. I re-named one of mine "Current A/C - Closed" even 'though it wasn't officially closed.

I've only ever been able to rename and reorder on the website. If anyone knows how to do it in the app, tips would be appreciated.

Santander staff can't see your names for the accounts, which caused confusion on telephone banking.

Then, I opened a starling account, where the staff can only see your names, after a telephone conversation with them in a public place, I regretted some of my choices....
