Post Office launches best buy savings accounts
Online Saver Issue 4 pays 3.01%, including a one-year bonus of 1.36%. The account can be opened with as little as £1 and it allows unlimited withdrawals with no penalties.

I closed the 2.9% Online Saver I had with the post office . Wasn't happy with the way it was run. Cumbersome to get money in and out (BACS payments). Debit card payments could be done but they didn't show up for several days. Customer sevice non-existent. Plus the complication of having the Bank of Ireland behind it - I know the UK part of them is protected but who needs the hassle if things go wrong. The fact that they have launched 4 versions of this account within a short space of time doesn't inspire confidence. i.e. more interested in plaiyng games with interest rates and grabbing as much money as possible.
Need to consider these things aswell as the interest rate if deciding to open an account.0 -
Hi Moneysavers,
Wesleyan bank's fixed rate deposit accounts are now withdrawn from sale after having been on offer just recently (< 1 week ago).
I applied for one of these accounts after seeing it on the Top Savings Accounts page. And I was shock to see that it's gone within just a few days! When I checked on Wesleyan's website, I can no longer find interest rates information relating to these accounts!
I am very concerned!!! Is there something wrong with Wesleyan bank or these accounts? I've already issued a cheque as initial deposit - will they take my money and disappear??? Should I ask my bank to stop the cheque?
Anyone knows what's going on please help!0 -
