When I signed up for the Post Office savings account I have the option of annual or monthly interest.
I had a thought that if I choose monthly I would make more money because I'd be earning interest on the previous months interest where as i would only earn interest on my own savings if I choose annual. Am i right about this?0 -

Now withdrawn
They have now lowered their rate to 2.6% on their new savings account (Issue 4)

Just opened an eSaver Issue 2 account paying 2.75% for instant access. I could not find info on daily withdrawal limits so phoned them to ask. Apparently there are limits but they're not prepared to disclose them. When you try to withdraw funds you'll be told to phone their 'retention team' who will decide whether you can take money out. Doesn't sound like instant access to me. I shan't be putting anything into this account.0

This is a recuring theme with Santander they also employed similar tactics with the building societies they took over. They make it easy to put your money in and hard to get it back and even harder to close an account. I would not touch them with a barge pole.0 -
SAGA TELEPHONE SAVER and SAGA INTERNET SAVER both paying 2.75% will be withdrawn and replaced on 12 Nov with accounts paying 0.2% less.
