I was going to do that, but as I was reading your post, I received another email from Newcastle BS with my user ID so don't need torazord said:For those who applied as a new customer, you should be able to use the forgotten user ID link to get your user ID "early".
At least that worked for me, and I can login and see the account (albeit, unfunded at the moment!)

Mine's just arrived too - 30 minutes after application.t1redmonkey said:

Just applied but they are asking for additional proof of identity, has anyone managed to do this electronically rather than postal?1

Having just opened the new Newcastle BS Easy Access Tracker I noticed this caveat in the account details.
If you have selected to fund your initial application online this will take a minimum of 7 working days from account opening but could take longer if you have chosen to fund at a future date
Not so great for those of us used to instant app based transfers

Not sure the interest rate makes it worthwhile geting certified copies of documents and posting them in snail mail... especially if they are going to apply an application/deposit cutoff before I can get the documents to them.Getting bad vibes about this account.2

I would be curious to know what the justification would be for an electronic payment to take more time to be processed than a cheque. With the way things have been going recently, this rate will be beaten in less time than that anyway !n3ophyte said:Having just opened the new Newcastle BS Easy Access Tracker I noticed this caveat in the account details.

Me too, which is odd because I'm usually easily verified electronically. One would imagine that if there were a means to provide the documentation electronically, they would provide those details in the application confirmation email. However, the only method provided is to post physical copies to them (how quaint!)jaceyboy said:Just applied but they are asking for additional proof of identity, has anyone managed to do this electronically rather than postal?3 -

7 days is only for the initial deposit. Seems that perhaps account opening is a two-step process and you only get your own sort code and account number after your initial deposit has been successful.refluxer said:
