TIA for any reports.
I also set up an account with AA and completed all the details. I heard nothing more from them for several months when they wrote to say as no money had gone into my account, they had closed it! I wrote back to say that I wasn't aware they had opened an account as I had not heard from them:mad:. So I guess it is swings and roundabouts sometimes. I can add a little about premium bonds as I have had them for years. The max you can put in is £30,000 and that might have got £600-£1000 a year but now I might get a cheque for £25 once a month, so not a good return. Of course no tax and 'I might get lucky'. Their NSI savings look quite sensible so I will put the max in there.
There are some Green Investment websites out there that are worth investingating for under £10,000 and some landbanking options in the UK for less than that. Landmark Developments AG (Swiss Company) operate in Hampshire. There is some paperwork to play with and a bit of a learning curve and you can sell at any time, but ideally one should wait until planning permission is granted and then the company does the rest. Land will always give a better return than banks in my opinion.0 -
Is anyone else getting email alerts that there's been a reply to this thread, and when you visit it there's no new post? I'm assuming that the posts have been deleted before I read them, but it's happened loads of times over the last few days. Just wondered whether there may be another reason.
Edit: It's accepted my post, so the others must have been deleted.0 -

Yes, this has happened to me a few times, and yes you assume correctly. There has been a substantial increase in spam lately; it's getting quite trying.0 -

See my earlier message. The new message was from a spammer, by the time you visited the thread the message had been deleted. I suggest that you provide feedback to the forum masters that they should improve their automatic spam filtering to stop the spammers posting in the first place.0

I currently have an Egg savings account and my bonus year with them ends in August 2010 (next month). I will then need to open the best easy access (online access) savings account for my money, but I don't want it there for a year as I will be emigrating sometime between Nov-Jan, so I just need the best place to put it for a couple of months. Does anyone know the best account for me to use? Thanks, Lynn0

Have a look HERE and HERE. On the second link, you'll need to click on the sort button under the AER, as for some reason the list reverts to 'available online' rather than the selected AER when the link's posted.0 -
My ING bonus period is finished and I'm back to 0.5%!--so I will switch. ING's higher rates are only available to people who haven't held an ING a/c for >6months!! This may be the case with other providers as well, so my question is--do I close the a/c or just reduce it to say £1 and then it's there if I need it in future.
Why do firms want to lose their customers like this!!0
