Re Tandem - AFAIK when you first open an account with them, you have to manually add the bonus.
With Marcus and Saga, AFAIK when you first open an account with them, the bonus is automatically added.
May be wrong on either one of these - but hopefully this clarifies my point as to why M & S appear at a certain position on the league tables that T does not.If you want me to definitely see your reply, please tag me @forumuser7 Thank you.

Out of interest I wonder why Marcus and Sagas rate gets listed including the bonus and Tandem without.ForumUser7 said:
It’s because of the bonus - they are at 3.75% on the listing, and the bonus is explained in the information panepecunianonolet sLookaid:
Tandem still not showing in the MF list, they should be second place.ForumUser7 said:

They updated my East access to 4.1% today. My question was about the listing of Tandem on Moneyfacts. Tandem is ranked by their non 'top-up' rate and Marcus and Saga include their bonus rate. The answer seems to be whether the bonus is applied automatically on account opening or not.I can confirm with Tandem as I have this account that the top up needs turning on manually.

I understand continually moving monies to chase the best EA rates can be a little time consuming it’s no biggie. It’s all very individual some will move accounts for a 0.1-0.3% gain, and that’s either because their balance is high or they just do it out of principal and whatever each of us decide is right for us.
what I’m not as sure on is why some seem to aggrieved at certain institutions not passing in rate raises.Every lender has their own goals and criteria for how much money they need and want to bring in at any one time based on what they need the money for. If an institution isn’t upping rates it’s easy as pie to switch3 -
Just waiting on Shawbrook reaching 4%+ now
cant believe the account was paying 0.89% when I opened it about a year or so ago!
Pinch me 😳2 -
The point is that we shouldn't have to keep switching. They get us in on a good rate, then don't raise the rates even though the BoE rate has moved up 1% in some cases, eg Virgin MoneyVNX said:I understand continually moving monies to chase the best EA rates can be a little time consuming it’s no biggie. It’s all very individual some will move accounts for a 0.1-0.3% gain, and that’s either because their balance is high or they just do it out of principal and whatever each of us decide is right for us.

I guess that is partially prempting the rate rise tomorrow, which some think may be 0.5% and I hope they do. It still will be miles from taming inflation - they need to get to 10% plus
