I think it depends which bank you're using. I believe some banks set quite low open banking limits so it may be worth linking chip to a different account.

I definitely deposited more than £2k/day on many occasions without any problems. The same for withdrawals.

Yeah it's through open banking where it limits me to £2k/day (via Barclays). Not a big problem since I'm not using it for very large amounts so I don't usually notice it but on a couple of occasions I had to do transfers over 2 days instead of all at once because of that.

Anyone else noticed faster speeds for deposits and withdrawals to and from Zopa. It used to be around 20 minutes approx for me but the last few days they have all been instant which is good, wonder if they have changed something. Just wish they would put their rates up now 🙂

Yes, noticed that too. Transfer to Zopa was practically instant to my linked account 2 days ago.

Good that I re-posted that ft article here on this thread isn't it? Otherwise forumites visiting the Santander Woes thread and reading my post would be non the wiser that calling your bank ahead is an urban myth. Nobody has responded to that post since I made it on 28 March 2023.

Had a couple of responses from forumite eskbanker on that thread since and even he (pretty sure about this personal pronoun btw) didn't tell us it's an urban myth.

Somehow (as if by magic) it's come to light on this thread!

edit: Note that the FT article is from 24 July 2020. Rather than anyone being 'out of touch' could it be that the banks have changed their policies. So at one point if was possible for us to call ahead and now due to the rise in transfer scams etc. banks have decided to change tack.

I signed up last night and received this this morning in my email obviously I can't be bothered with the hassle of sending details so I'll just wait a few more days and some other bank will hopefully have a better intrest rate.

May I take the liberty of taking us back to easy access accounts.

The moneybox simple saver is now at 3% (up from 2.32%). It's not got a market leading rate by any stretch of the imagination but it does let you deposit by DD so it's nice to know my £2 weekly DD is earning an extra 0.68% whilst sat in an EA account. By my calculations that leaves me around 3p better off each year.
I was pleased to get that email - hoping a similar one from Plum (Investec pot) arrives soon.

N.B. The Moneybox Simple saver is ‘powered’ by Shawbrook, so FSCS cover is up to £85k across your total combined deposits with this account and Shawbrook’s offerings.
If you want me to definitely see your reply, please tag me @forumuser7 Thank you.

Still on 3.2% and 3.1%, really wondering if I should wait around or move to Shawbrook, is it user friendly? I am sorta tired of moving around but I don't know if I'm being lazy, it is my FTB deposit money, hoping to buy in the next year.
